I would love to use these, but they have quite some books Logos is selling. Like the books from Ironside, Spurgeon and Pink. Now, I still would love to have these books but I do not feel free to take them, now Logos sells them.

Logos doesn't want us to use their site to share PB's that Logos sells, and that makes a lot of sense. James is not using Logos' site, and they are all public domain books. James is not doing anything wrong.I would love to use these, but they have quite some books Logos is selling. Like the books from Ironside, Spurgeon and Pink. If you do not want to use James' PB because Logos sells them, that is fine. If James want to share his PB's on a non-Logos' site that happens to have some of the same books that Logos sells, that is fine too.

We seem to be more concerned about not competing with Logos than Logos is. The notice seems fine to me - it just says that I have a bunch of stuff over here. It doesn't name any of them...
However, when I looked at one of the files, I saw that it included a copyright notice from Quickverse, had no tagging, and the Greek was garbage text - at least in my copy of MS Word... IMHO at least the book I examined needs work to function with Logos and is questionably legal besides.

Which book are you concerned with and I will endeavor to fix the situation if it needs fixing.
I appreciate your diligence.

James:
Thank you for your hard work on all of these (although I was surprised to see so many works that I had done for this Logos site also on yours. It would seem courteous to ask if I minded my editions being shared elsewhere). "Screwtape Letters" by CS Lewis was first published in 1942 and so I am certain it is not in public domain, i.e. still covered by copyright. 1923 and before is the general rule of thumb I go by. Lewis was converted to Christ in 1931 or 32 and so none of his Christian works would be in public domain. The only pre-conversion work that would be before 1923 is "Spirits in Bondage: A Cycle of Lyrics" (1919) and that is not a Christian work, but something on literature.

The book I looked at was Hodge's Commentary on Romans.

Thank you for your comments and help. I have removed Hodge's "Commentary on Romans" and Lewis' "Screwtape Letters".
Calvin, if you would like I will take down any files you have done. I have tried to share not just my work but what I have found available. There does not seem to be one place where you can get a lot of PBB Docx files. I would be interested in any docx PBB files you would like to share. I would just need to know where to find them. I have been to your page and most of those files are for L3 which I no longer use.
Again, thank you for your help.

It is clear that I spoke too soon.tom said:and they are all public domain books.
After taking a closer look, most of these titles are copyrighted. Even if the original work is in the public domain, we cannot copy and use a version of the original work that is still under copyright to create a PB and especially to give other people a copy of the copyrighted work. So everything that has been copied from QuickVerse or is still under copyright for Loizeaux Brothers, Gene Cunningham, etc... should be removed from the site.

Or should be edited to in include only the public domain original work.

Thank you James for your hard work! I need to download ASAP before users figure out which one is copyrighted and which one is not.

I will be working to get the copyrighted material out and the public domain in.
Thank you for your diligence.
