Why can't there be a word processor

I admit that I am not a programer, but why not something simple.

That post was talking about note files specifically, but why can't there be an add-in or the like. Maybe it could be retooled features of the PBB or Sermon File Add-in.

The grounds have aready been laid for a hand-out feature. There are many publishing applications on the market, but Logos invisioned the value of creating handouts in side of the Logos environment.

We don't need an "Office" level processor, but something more powerful than notepad would be nice. It would be nice t have spell check (I can't spell) and some simple formatting options. Most of the formatting features are already present in my L3 sermon file add-in, add spell check and we practically have a simple word processor.

The market is already flooded with wordprocessors, free and paid for. It would be ridiculous to dedicate the ammount of energy necessary to accomplish this.

Maybe it could be retooled features of the PBB or Sermon File Add-in.

We still have yet to see what the upcoming and improved PBB/SFL will do. I for one am hoping for an order of magnitude improvement on formatting. It screams for much more formatting, and begs for indenting and the like.

That said, I would appreciate a spell checker as much as you I think. However keep in mind that it will have to know the difference between Color and Colour. Not to mention have a database which recognizes Greek, Hebrew, Syriac, French, German, Spanish, (shall I keep going?) And it ought to recognize the presence or absence of accent marks for the various languages as necessary or unecessary. It sounds like a nightmare of programming to me.

Handouts: not such a great example. Bob has already stated that the purpose of handouts is quick and dirty - not a custom document. <sigh />

What I WOULD love to see is for PBB/SFL to be able to import not only DOC but ODT files, and while we're at it the near universal RTF format.

maybe it could use the word indexes already built for dictionaries in your library.

again "not a programmer", but could it use some type background search of your dictionaries and lexicons and if it did not find the word you used then it would flag them?

I don't want the grammer and sophisticated (hope I spelled that right {lol}) features of office, but spell check would be nice, and some simple formatting options.

this feature doesn't even have to be real time, but maybe you click on a button and it checks your words to the resources at that time.

I may not be seeing the horors of what I'm asking. It just seems so simple to the untrained eye.

Wordsearch bible had a good word processor and we didn't have to subscribe to msword but now it's wiped out.
