How to find ALL uses of cognate accusative regardless of root?

Dear colleagues,

Several posts over the last few years have asked about how to do cognate searches based on specific roots. I would like to know if it is possible to search for every construction in Hebrew (or Greek, for that matter) in which a verbal stem ??? is used with the same stem as a noun ???, but where ??? can be any stem.

In my case, I have found that Zechariah uses cognate accusative constructions in 1:2, 1:14-15, and 8:2. I would like to see whether the cognate accusative pattern is used with other stems in Zechariah, and also to search texts in Exodus for cognate accusatives.

I'm using Logos 4 on a Windows 7 platform, but does Logos 5 have the capability for this search?

The text Search methods can't handle the type of query where Agreement is required, whereas Syntax Search is ideal. Unfortunately, it does not allow Agreement for Roots, but we can get an approximation:

Edit: if you can't see the screenshots it is due to a forum glitch -> I could see them just after posting, but not now (after 15 mins).

It misses Zech 8:2, whereas Agreement between Roots would not.

For Greek I used Louw-Nida numbers which will have some false hits, but I don't know what it misses.

What you need to do is suggest that Root be added to Agreement for all Syntax databases.

NB. This type of query needs a boundary e.g. Clause, Sentence else it will take a very long time trying to match a Verb in Matthew with every Noun from Matthew to Revelation. It's all about reasonable Proximity.

Hey Chris - I found a way to do this for Hebrew, which captures Dave's Zech 8:2 scenario below. I used the Morph Query document:

I tried a search span of 10 segments (the default) that seemed to get things across the atnach boundary for example. This may still include some of those, or may exclude some examples that are further apart. You could start high and then review the results for what are reasonable limits.

Dave's comment about the lack of the option of Agreement for syntax queries across all syntax databases still holds. Frustrating. Alternatively if you could include something like accent/cantillation/punctuation marks in the Morph Query that would also help; i.e. this type of agreement without either an atnach or a sof pasuk between them.
