Mr. Pritchett, please do not ignore a Russian opportunity
Aside from "restoring" what was functional in L3 by supporting the Russian language and resources, please allow me to outline why expanding into the Russian market will make sense for Logos:
- Russia is Europe's largest internet market, as confirmed by numerous studies.
- The Russian language is the fifth or sixth (depending on counting methodologies) most spoken language in the world.
- Many big-name publishers, with whom Logos is partnering, already have numerous resources translated into Russian.
- Companies like Apple and now Amazon are entering Russian ebook market.
- Both eBay & PayPal’s #1 priority for expansion is Russia (from official eBay tweet), which can alleviate some payment issues.
- Logos has implemented Russian in their software before, so some of the groundwork has already been done.

I can't speak it but I would think it would be a very good thing. It may seem pointless for me to say it, but I honestly think Logos in Russian would be the wonderful. While I would guess a large number of users would have a good enough knowledge of english to use it, I would guess since libronix was in Russian there is already numerous users who would love it.

The hiring of Gabe Martini for Orthodox materials together with Eastern Rite Catholic materials should by default cover a significant portion of Russian Christianity.

I think he is just hoping to have a russian interface back from what I understood. But i am sure he will welcome more orthodox resources.

My thought is build the demand for Orthodox resources - Greek, Russian, Church Slavonic - then you'll get the interface. I just might be influenced a wee bit by the fact I don't read Russian or Greek and my Old Church Slavonic is limited, old and rusty.[:)]

I sometimes wonder why there isn't a Logos Germany yet. Must be a large market for German theological works, not only in Germany, but in English-speaking countries also.

I am interested in both Russian interface and resources (which require interface as far as making automatic Scripture links, etc.)
Interface - in L3, menu items were hit and miss - I think about 50% were translated into Russian. But even this was workable because we had an automatic Russian scripture reference parser for things like PBB and Sermon File.
Resources - I am not Russian Orthodox, although I welcome these resources in Logos. Ironically, Moody Publishers have a lot of resources translated into Russian. Many new books from major other Christian publishers are released in Russian almost simultaneously with their English counterparts in paperback. They have official copyright info, so I assume that publishers commission their translation.
There are works by Ryrie, Grudem, Geisler, McArthur, Lucado, Lloyd-Jones, Spurgeon, McDowell, Dobson, Calvin, Stanley, etc. translated into Russian already.
