So what collections would you like to see broken up ... and why?

I'll start .... the NICNT ... so I can slowly buy the commentaries I want, as I want/need them ... 'cos lets face it, if I haven't managed to raise the money to prioritorize this resource as a whole by now, I never will.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but I strongly believe that all commentary and reference sets that can be purchased separately in hard copy, really ought to be offered separately in digital copy as well.

I'd make an exception for sets that would make no sense when purchased separately, e.g. Letters L-P in a dictionary set, or volumes 6 and 13 in a 20-volume encyclopedia. Otherwise, Logos ought to give customers to that same flexibility.

I know, it may be the publishers that want to sell in a set. Just saying that this is something that should be at the forefront of every negotiation.

Yes! However, I highly doubt these collections will ever be broken up.

I messed up bad with this one, too. I had placed an order for this collection while it it was in CP and accidentally deleted the order a few months later (at this time it was now a pre-pub) as I was thinning out my order queue. I would have called customer service about this if I had found out sooner. I didn't notice I made this mistake until it was supposed to be shipped!

I sent an email to Baker some time ago that I posted in another thread asking if the decision to bundle was their decision or Logos'. The guy from Baker said that he was under the impression that once the sets came out of Pre-Pub they were supposed to be unbundled. Unfortunately, this isn't happening.

Thanks for the email. My understanding is that all books will be available individually after the initial pre-pub on the collection is complete. I need to check with Logos that this actually happening. I’ll get back with you.

Is there a particular book you are looking for individually?

I will also note, however, that discounts on books will generally only be when bought in packages.

It generally happens about 6 months after shipping. If it was done immediately, fewer people would order prepubs, which means it would take longer to get them into production.

If the decision to tie up titles in a bundle mainly comes from Logos, that would be ... bizarre.

Some time back I watched an introductory course for biblical hermeneutics (free on iTunesU) and Traina was the textbook. I searched for it and managed to buy a used copy that must have been published in the 1950s or so. Looking at Amazon's look-into, the authors of Inductive Bible Study claim it's time for a sequel since Methodical Bible Study never was revised since the 50s!

Looking at the offerings from Baker this does seem to be the case. It seems most, if not all, Baker sets have been broken up except for the Pre-Pubs and new releases. I also don't have a problem with them bundling them for the initial period, as I agree that it helps more books become available.
