Error Message--Home page outline appears, then program crashes

Friends,

I had success opening Logos 4 on my desktop computer.  Recently, however, I am getting this error code when it gets to the home page and has the little spiral appear (it appears, but doesn’t twist):

EventType : clr20r3     P1 : logos4.exe     P2 : 4.0.3.3272     P3 : 4b04a3e7

P4 : presentationframework     P5 : 3.0.0.0     P6 : 4938d608     P7 : 62ea

P8 : 92     P9 : system.windows.markup.xamlparse

The program then shuts down.

The only thing that is different from when it was working was that I purchased a number of books, and it does say “preparing library” prior to getting to the home page.

Thank you for whatever insight you might have!

 Have a blessed Advent/Christmas season.

    Try this:

Immediately after clicking the short cut to launch L4 hold down the CTRL key until you see a dialog box pop up. Then look for an option to open to a blank layout. See if that helps get L4 started.

Hopefully, you can at least use it then (minus the home page).

You could try opening the home page after loading to a blank layout. It may work, it may crash.

If it does crash look for a log file here: My Documents\Logos Log Files. Then post those logs here. (Holding CTRL down while loading should start logging, if it doesn't check the wiki - see below for link - on instructions to enable logging with a javascript file.)

Thank you very much!  Opening Logos in that way triggered a download of the additional resources, and now everything is operating as before.  There must have been some mysterious hiccup somewhere.

Again, many thanks for taking the time to help me.  Have a blessed Christmas!

I spoke too soon.  Still, many thanks!  But it just crashed again.  So, I may be back with a post of the sort you recommended.

... Then post those logs here....

I've just developed a similar problem; Logos4 seems to work fine unless I try to open "Home"--it displays the ribbon with my reading lists, shows a spinning circle in the white space, then after a bit the program crashes.  I tried tailoring the home page via customize, but all I see are the ribbon items...the rest is a horizontal bar.

I'm posting the log file in the hopes someone knows how to fix it...I do see some error messages toward the end of the logfile.

I've just developed a similar problem...

I'm running 4.0a SR-3 (4.01.3.5180), and the problem persists.  Logos asked me to post a new log file, so here goes:

    3652.Logos4.log

As long as I don't open the Home page, I can use Logos.  It had worked at one time, and stopped on it's own...can't point out any known causal event.

A happy update; Logos tech support had me run "Rebuild Index" & now I can open the Home Page without crashing Logos.  [:)]
