SongShowPlus songs import?

Hi all:

I am part of a group that has started a new church plant (after closing another church where we used SongShowPlus), and have begun meeting for worship on Sunday mornings. I downloaded and am trialing Proclaim, and another Open Source program called OpenLP. We had built quite a library of songs downloaded from Songselect. Does Proclaim have the ability to import SSP songs (like OpenLP does), or is there a 3rd party utility that can do that? I would hate to have to bring those all in again. :-) Thanks for the help!

Proclaim does have the ability to import songs downloaded from SongSelect! If you have a SongSelect account, you can use the "Link third-party accounts..." feature in the account menu to link your account. This will allow you to search your SongSelect database directly from the Proclaim song search feature.

If you just have your songs saved in files, you can click "Import Songs..." under the account menu, click the "Choose Text Files..." button, and select the files you have your songs saved in.

Not exactly...I want to import songs that are already in SSP format (.sspong files). These are songs that have already imported from Songselect into SSP. I found another worship program OpenLP that does this. I was just wondering if Proclaim did the same.

Songs can be imported into Proclaim from plain text files in the format that CCLI uses. Does SSP have an export all songs to text file feature? To try importing the text file click your username in the upper right corner and select the Import songs... option.

OK, so it appears that the answer is no. But, I did find a kinda-answer somewhere else...

It works pretty well at converting the .spsong format song files into text files, which can then be imported into Proclaim. It is not perfect, but it will help for those we really want to carry over.
