Islam Bundle

I got the Islam Studies Bundle. Is there a quick and easy way to put these into a collection? I wish that when you bought a collection they were put in your library as a collection, or perhaps I am not looking at it correctly....quite possible!

Once you get a new download of resources, if you want to put some/all into a collection, open up your LIbrary. Sort it by "Last Updated" so the new resources are at the top. Open up Collections, then simply click the topmost resource, hold the shift key, click the lowest resource in the library, which should select all the ones you want - then drag them to the "+ These Resources" section of the Collections Panel. Rename the Collection and you are done!

That's assuming they were my last updated lol... I had a ton of updates downloaded, that's a lot to sift through. There has to be an easier way...

It took me a while to find what you were talking about… It isn't a "bundle," but a "collection." Since there are so many publishers & authors, that might be more difficult. Have you tried using subject:islam ?

Yes collection, my mistake in terminology (been a long week) and no, I haven't tried the subject:islam that is a good idea. Hopefully that will grab all of the works in the collection. I wonder why when you purchase a collection it doesn't automatically show up as a collection in your library, that would be a nice feature.

Oops forgot to add - I used the Mytag to tag all collections I purchase. I just do it as soon as they are downloaded onto my library, then it's easy to find them as they are all the latest updated.

If this bundle is part of a series, it is easy. Open a new collection and in the "Start with" box, type "series:<name of collection>". If not, check the subject of one of the resources in the collection and add that to the "Start with" box. Not sure what it might be, but one book I have on Islam has this subject, which would be typed as "subjects:Christianity and other religions-Islam". If they are not all the same subject, you might have to work a little harder and try "title:islam OR title:muhammadanism OR title:Quran" etc. This last option will take a bit of work and you may have to add books in the series that don't contain every keyword that you entered. To add theses books, simply drag them into the area in the collections window that says "+ Plus these resources." Finally, if nothing else works, you may have to simply create a collection and drag all the resources you want into the "+ Plus these resources" area, which I have had to do on occasion. Hope this helps...

Nearly. I tend to tag them when they are updated, my collection has five more (four have subject:koran and the fifth is George Bush: "The Life of Mohammed"), you could come up with more since I have hidden the lang:arabic resources.
Note that subject:islam may also give you resources from the unrelated Zwemer bundle and Norman Geisler's "Answering Islam". The rule to generate that collection for me would be: (subject:(islam, koran) OR title:"the life of Mohammed") -author:(zwemer, geisler)
EDIT: but you may need to take out the two "The Quran" resources from Perseus collection.
Have joy in the Lord!
