Sermon Illustration Storage

I plan to mine some of the rich church history books in my Logos library for sermon illustration purposes. My initial thought is that the best method for cataloging the info is in Clipping files.
- For each history book I read I'll form a clipping document. I'll clip passages that have significant illustrative properties.
- I'd tag those clips with the tags "Illustration" and the relevant illustration key words.
- Each clip would get notes that discuss its application.
- When searching for a sermon illustration I can search for the tags "Illustration" and relevant key words.
Does that sound like the best strategy?

If it works for you... Maybe some of the pastors want to chime in. I just wanted to put in that the current Logos 4/5 implementation for PB contains functionality to tag and index sermon illustrations, thus allowing them to show up in guides etc.Have joy in the Lord!

Perhaps, but I think it is a little "messy." I would prefer to use the personal book builder.

Thanks for your thoughts. However, updating a *.docx file outside of Logos and then recompiling PBBs every time I come across an illustration seems more "messy" to me.

I wouldn't call it "messy"… but it might require more work. By "messy," I mean that you will have an ever increasing amount of clippings to manage, and using Word is easier (IMO).
If I were wanting to tackle the project you have suggested… I would probably use clippings as a temporary place holder… Once or twice a month I would empty the clippings into the .docx file, and recompile.
