5.1B6 Mac Installer issue

Installer related issue; after upgrading from Beta5 to Beta6 I noticed that I seemed to have 2 instances  of Logos running; one of which had hung... Activity monitor suggests that Beta5 didn't fully close down and got moved to the trash while still running...  [:|]

    Jon,

Can you post your system info? Also, please include what version of Mac OSX you're using. Thanks!

I have a theory about why this could happen, but it would depend on Beta 5 having an error in the background that would prevent the app from closing down cleanly. The problem then is not with the installer, but with the app itself. Had the installer not upgraded the app, you probably would have noticed you would have had to force quit the app, if my theory is correct.

Unix based operating systems, like Mac OS X, in contrast to Windows, generally have no problems forcibly deleting or moving files that are in use, so I'm not surprised the running app could get moved to the trash. But as I said, it was only running because it had a crash in the background that prevented the app from shutting down cleanly.

That's quite possible as that does seem to happen from time to time...

    FWIW, I'm running 10.8.3 on a MacBookPro8,3
