How do I start with current lectionary and get a usable passage guide?
Good morning,
I have been trying to understand how best to use the Android app to roughly follow the same workflow I use in the desktop app. Thank you to anyone who is able to help me out.
I would be grateful if anyone could suggest some ways of accomplishing what I am trying to do easily in the android app: Start with this Sunday’s lectionary; select one of the passages; view it in my preferred Bible; AND pull up a passage guide on that citation with my prioritized resources.
On the desktop, when I launch Logos, my Revised Common Lectionary shows up on the left side with the scriptures for the coming Sunday. When I click on one of the readings, a new window pops up with the lectionary on the left (open to the upcoming Sunday) and the selected reading on the right in my preferred translation.
From there, I can right-click and select a passage guide or exegetical guide or any number of options to begin looking at this passage. And when I select a guide, the resources display in my prioritized order.
I can’t find similar functioning in Android.
I made the RCL a favorite, but that sets it to a certain location, and I cannot find a button or menu item that will take it to today.
Once I navigate to today in the lectionary, I would expect a click-and-hold to allow me to select passage guide for that passage. What comes up are “Copy Info Search Note Highlight” None of which will get me to a passage guide. Then, if I just click on the citation, it brings up pop-up from which I can “jump to reference” and bring it up in my preferred Bible.
However, when I tap on the screen in this window, the citation doesn’t show in the search box, only the first verse of it does (this may or may not make a difference in searching). From there I can tap on the menu (or “book”) icon in the upper left corner, scroll to passage guide, and the program will make a passage guide based on the first verse of the selection, not the whole citation (again, I can’t tell if this makes a difference or not, but it’s not what happens in the desktop app).
When the guide comes up, it doesn’t show my prioritized resources, so it’s much, much less useful than the desktop version.
