Dear Team Logos,
When are we going to start seeing the "Coming Very Soon" features in the beta releases? http://www.logos.com/4/missingfeatures
We're only 18 calendar days from Q1 2010...
Thanks,
Peter
I understand that page to say we can expect it during Q1 (any time before March 31), not before Q1 begins.
I think he was referring to these items, which appear before the Q1 section.

Q1 (any time before March 31), not before Q1 begins.
To a developer, Q1 2010 means March 31st or March 32nd.
To sales and marketing and customers, Q1 2010 means January 1st.
Peter,
Hopefully it won't be like waiting for Y2K.
Now it is only 17 calendar days, but as Clinton might point out, that may mean 25 or 35 days to a developer. You can be sure they are working on it. I also suspect after all the flack they've had over putting things out incomplete something like importing notes will be well tested before they release it into the Beta world. If it messes up, it might mess up your L3 notes really badly. It has to be nearly impossible to set a firm deadline when you have no idea what problems will appear.
My advice: don't wait to start your Christmas shopping until after Notes are imported.
Chris
I'm willing to wait. I'd rather have it stable and robust than on time! And they don't need us jabbering about bugs in the Coming Soon list while they are moving on to the Q1 list...

Ah, yeah that makes sense.
I take "Very Soon" to mean any time, they're already working on it.
I'm guessing that note importing and visual markups are waiting on finishing the NIV and NLT reverse interlinears.
Illustrations section in the passage guide could come any time. So far we're not seeing it in Beta4. My guess is that they're still tagging all the topical resources with the L4 protocols.
I'm not talking about Logos, but at my software company we called the release date the "Not before Date." Which meant, "I don't know when you'll see it, but not before..." We engineers always laughed about what Clinton said too. "Q1 means March 31st."
I should add that I'm impressed with Logos' beta release schedule. These are stable test releases and they come out roughly weekly. That shows a well oiled build and release system. Very nice. (I used to work for Electric Cloud, a company that built software build systems - I appreciate these behind the scene things.)
From the outside, I can tell Logos is quality on the inside.
We're working on importing notes/markup and also a few items from the "Q1" list, including verse lists, right now. We don't consider it stable enough for external testing yet. As soon as it is, we'll have it in a beta release.
FYI, the "Illustrations" section may slip into the next update; it turned out to be a little more involved than we originally anticipated.
Thanks for the update!
