Samuel Sandmel

Might I suggest the works of Samuel Sandmel as worthy additions to the Logos collection? Rabbi Samuel Sandmel was professor of Bible and Hellenistic Literature at Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion, and author of many highly regarded books on Jewish and biblical studies.

His works include:

  • A Jewish Understanding of the New Testament
  • We Jews and Jesus
  • Antisemitism in the New Testament?
  • Judaism and Christian Beginnings
  • Genius of Paul

    BTW, I forgot to mention that in my Silver Bundle, Sandmel is cited 85 times in 33 publications

    Peace, Tony!            Your suggestion seems to be a great suggestion indeed!           To tell you the truth, I can't remember ever even hearing about Samuel Sandmel before (I recognise that there are significant gaps in my accumulated knowledge, of course!   *smile*)

                     So I did a search and was greatly surprised when this came up:

    Peace, George!                Everything's fine and very normal!     I just have been using the ancient traditional Canadian idiosyncratic "figures of speech"!                     I assumed that a languages guy like you would have picked up on that!  *smile*

    I understood you, but I find the expression extremely humorous.  BTW:  It's not simply a traditional Canadian figure of speech.

    George, I often find many of our English idioms to be quite humourous!    *smile*                   English has to be one of the most difficult languages in the world to learn ............
