Those of you Logos 5 users who have upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8: is there a noticeable improvement in Logos' performance in the new OS?
On the same machine there is no doubt that Windows 8 is faster than W7. The improvement for Logos 5 is more subtle than noticeable on my first gen Core i7 desktop where I upgraded inplace. If possible do a fresh install of W8 to get the most benefit.
I did an in place upgrade and I find that Logos running on Windows 8 is noticeably faster.
Now, catch this.
I'm running Windows 8 as a virtual machine (Parallels 8) on my Mac. It runs significantly faster than the native Mac edition of Logos. For example, a topic search for the term "firstfruits" on the Mac took 8 seconds to return the list but on the Win8 VM it took only 2 seconds.
I'm finding similar results in scrolling when I have several resources keyed to the same group, grammatical searches & etc.
Sounds like the Mac version needs some tuning.

Thanks for the information
... I hope Microsoft will quickly release Windows 8.1 so that I can turn off the Metro interface
so that I can turn off the Metro interface
That would be official, but you can do that now with third party functions (search the web for "start menu for Windows 8").
