The Audio Read-along Lexham English Bible is now available
If you are a registered Logos customer and use the Logos, Faithlife Study Bible or Verbum apps, you now have access to the Audio LEB resource.
This resource allows you to listen to the LEB while following along on the screen. To listen to audio, navigate to somewhere in the LEB New Testament and swipe up on the page; you should see a "Play Audio" button.
Notes:
- Only the New Testament has audio support
- To listen to the audio LEB while offline, you must first download the audio files
- You might have to restart the apps in order for the resource to become available

Thanks for this, Kevin. I have just tried out the audio this morning for the first time. It is very cool and very useful indeed. Thank you again!

The voice from the audio is pleasant and clear. It is very nice to be able to quickly jump to a desired starting point for listening.
I checked available memory on my iPhone before and after download of LEB audio files. Only 0.1 GB used. However, the Logos pre-pub page indicates 600 MB. https://www.logos.com/product/27751/lexham-english-bible-audio-new-testament
From looking at the product pages it appears that the Lexham bible and audio N.T. are free to any iPhone owners. Is that correct? So is it the case, that, after creating an account, anyone can get it?

I am really impressed. Unlike other audio Bibles that are tagged with just chapters, having it at the verse level is very cool. I look forward to more audio Bibles (hopefully the OT) an other audiobooks. LEB audio NT is very well done.

I am very excited by this feature. Is it going to be possible to listen to all our books in the way that we can on the desktop app? I listen to books through my laptop every day so to be able to do that on the move would be sweet! Also, what about the greek audio new testament?
Thanks,
John

I can't speak definitively on this issue… but I'll tell you what I know. First, this resource is unique. It isn't the "read aloud" feature in L4/L5, which uses your OS's computerized speech technology to read to you. This is a professionally recorded audio of the New Testament. Second, Bob has asked forum members in the past about their desire to see audio books within Logos… this is like an audio book. I don't know if this is a sign of things to come or not… I doubt, however, that we will see much of this calibre for free. If other translations were to become available, I would assume it would come at a cost to the user. Third, just to clarify, you can't use the "read aloud" feature with all books. Some publishers prohibit it… just try a Zondervan title, for example. Lastly… I have heard that the devs desire for "read aloud" to be available on mobile, but there is no time table for that ability, or even promise that it will come. Kindle only recently made their app able to use the accessibility for the blind feature of iOS compatible with their Kindle reader for iOS… (you can only access that feature if you turn on the accessibility features in iOS).
I am a newcomer to audio books, and I like them… but I am not likely to spend much on those kinds of resources. If I could pick up a bible translation for $20… I probably would. (I would want the translation that I was reading through devotionally for the year, whichever one that was at the time).

Did you download the entire thing? I've been reluctant to try. Maybe I should. [:)] Either way, there is often a difference in quality between mobile audio and the full quality versions.

It is my understanding that it is free to those who have the "free for the first million users" Faithlife account.
Edit: It would help to read the OP. [:$]

Well, I thought I did. Sorry for the misinformation. The "download all" option is not working for me. When I tried a second time, it download a few more files, but removed some of the files downloaded earlier. I rebooted my iPhone and gave it third try, but the results were the same.
I was able to select and download individual files I want to use right now. I'm happy with that.
I hope the "download all" problem will be resolved in a future update.

Hi Scott,
What you are seeing might be related to the LEB update today - and/or the version of the Logos app you are running.
Please try this:
1) Remove any existing downloaded Audio LEB files.
2) Upgrade to the latest version of Logos (3.3.2.2114).
3) If there is an LEB update, make sure that is applied.
4) Attempt to Download All again. Please let us know how it goes.

Also Scott - Note that the total download is more than 700 MB. This will take a while unless you have a really fast internet connection. Also, you may need to "baby" the download. In other words, don't let your device fall asleep. [;)]

I second everything said here, but improvements are on the way to allow more granular downloads.
