Personal book - including general information in the docx file

Is there any way to embed within the .docx file for a personal book, the Title, Author, Copyright, Description, Type and other general information about the book? I would like to distribute a personal book to my students and have all of this information automatically entered when the build the book.
Are there any tips anywhere about how to build personal books to give away to others?

The metadata must be entered manually when the book is compiled. Your best bet would be to create a separate document with the bibliographic details.

You could always build the book yourself in Logos, then take and share a screenshot of your completed PBB metadata.

In your case I would put
- the instructions with copy-pastable information plus a screenshot into a separate file (to make it foolproof, you could print it as a PDF...)
- the jpg for the cover graphics
- and the real PB source docx
all into a ZIP file. Many in the Files forum do the same, leaving out the instructions since those frequenting the files forum usually know how to build PBs.

It is too bad that this information cannot be embedded as fields in the document. I look forward to the day when we can distribute compiled personal books.

I think, since the PB compiler can extract data from a configuration table in case of Sermon Files, it would only be a minimal thing to add that functionality. I'd like it! [Y]

This is exactly what I was thinking.NB.Mick said:Harry Hahne said:It is too bad that this information cannot be embedded as fields in the document.

It sounds like the OP is just trying to work around the inability to share compiled personal books with other Logos users. This is a feature we plan to add (but syncing compiled books between your own devices will come first; for the current status of that, see: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/66838/466886.aspx#466886).
We are planning to solve the real problem, not make the workaround easier.

This is fantastic. My 2 goals for personal books would be: (1) to be able to view them on all of my devices with one compile (including mobile devices); (2) to be able to make it easy to give someone else a compiled personal book, with all copyright information and other metadata intact (an non-editable). There are some teaching materials that I current give out in other electronic formats, but there are tremendous advantages to distributing them as Logos resources.
I remember reading somewhere else that Logos plans to set up a repository so people can make personal books available to others. I assume this would, be similar to iTunes store. This would be a great #3 goal, but the other 2 are my top priority.
Thanks, Bradley, for making us aware that this is on the horizon.

I would assume that they would now choose to use the new document management and sharing facilities for this (documents.logos.com), setting up one or more groups for sharing ???

That would be fine for me! I think they have big plans for this document management/sharing feature when it is more mature.
