Any idea as to when N. T. Wright's Christian Origins Series on pre-pub is released?

Does anyone have any idea when N. T. Wright's 'Christian Origins & The Question of God Series (v1-3) will be finally released? I placed an order back in June (09) but had originally placed an order for the second volume which was promoted singularly back in June (08), which was later removed and replaced by a promotion for the complete set, which I am very happy with - but it does seem to have been on my pre-pub list for a very long time

Which is longest wait for a pre-pub known? And could we have some more from N. T. Wright please (especially his 'for everyone' commentary series.

How long a resource is on prepub varies. For example, I have had the Qumran Biblical Dead Sea Scrolls Database http://www.logos.com/products/prepub/details/3455 on prepub for about 2 years. I think this is longer than usual because of the type of resource it is.

Yes, interest was very strong. From memory, this pre-pub went from "Gathering interest" to "Under development" in about 24 hours.

Hebrew pronunciation's been on pre-pub for quite a while.

In this case, I assume that priority has gone to NICOT/NICNT + Logos 4 in recent months.

Agreed that Wright is refreshing: I particularly enjoy his approach to the gospels.

I've bought a sample of his 'for everyone' series, to see how a scholar presents a popular commentary. It's very good for its intended audience, but perhaps less relevant for the academic Logos users. (Was there a rumour of him releasing a commentary on John?)

I too am eagerly awaiting the release of this pre-pub. I managed to snag 2 tickets to the Wheaton Theological Conference where he is the "head-liner." Should be a great time. I think, however, my wife might not afind it as exciting!

In all seriousness I would also love to know. The only frustration with pre-pubs is budgeting for their release and not knowing. I am holding back on some Xams specials because I am not sure when some pre-pubs will be ready.

I too second the call for Wright's "For Everyone" series.

I'm glad my post was of help. One of my college lecturers once said that "A good preacher is one who is able to explain profound truths simply, but of course in order to be able to explain things simply he needs to understand them profoundly". I think Tom Wright is a master of this, his popular commentaries from the 'Everyone' series bring a refreshing clarity to all who read them, and yet piece by piece he builds up a perspective which is able to support, encourage and enthuse the 'professional' pastor and academic who might read his more scholarly works, such as the 'Christian Origin' series. His enthusiasm and grasp of the Covenant theme is outstanding.

I know that there is some controversy between Wright & Piper over Justification and 'the new perspective' but evangelicalism is an attitude and approach to Scripture and not just a regurgitation of old familiar answers. I think we are fortunate by God's grace to have such scholars who are prepared to wrestle with the Scriptures on our behalf.

For my part, I think Logos should try and add Wright's "Surprised by Hope" and "Justification" to their resource library as soon as possible.

Although I am persuaded by Wright's position, John is quite right to remind us that there is another side. John Piper's book "The Future of Justification: A response to N. T. Wright" also deserves to be available in Logos format. In the meantime it can be freely downloaded as a PDF from his own "Desiring God" website.

I agree with Stephen, That is one thing that I hope Logos is. I know it must make everyone happy. But I am praying they have both sides of the story. That way everyone is free to look at both sides, and then chose which belief they agree with..Plus it helps Logos to be an "unbiased" publication..
