Just installed on my mac the Alpha 7 release and the start page that should look like a newspaper is blank. No information.

Alpha means that the app is not suitable for serious work, but it is available for testing. Was the page completely blank. In the upper right corner you should see the selection boxes for preferred Bible. In the lower left, you should find a check box to down the Home page on startup. Three icons and an entry field in the upper left. Did you have those?
