Hi Rosie,

Fun to see your question has sparked a few entertaining conjectures about what I do here.

As staff coach I am available to help employees with improved job performance if they ask for it. Many jobs here are very technical in nature, so I would probably not be the first resource employees would seek out for those roles. I thoroughly enjoy when coworkers drop by and I can help them gain clarity about purpose and function or challenge them to grow and stretch themselves by taking more ownership or leadership in a given area.

I'm big on transitioning people from Problem Identifiers (aka - Complainers) to Problem Solvers. Critics and Complainers are everywhere sharing the 'typically obvious' with anyone who will listen. Problem Solvers move people and companies forward, build a better future, and turn on the light of hope. I try to align myself in the latter camp as much as I can. It's an engaging challenge.

For more than a decade I actually was a literal coach (basketball) at the university level for the most part but and you can throw some high school and middle school teams in the mix as well. I largely fulfill similar roles here - help with recruitment, skill development, professional development, recognition programs, and culture building initiatives.

I have an exciting job where I get to wear a lot of hats. It keeps me busy and always learning.

Sure seemed to be. Maybe one day I'll get back between the lines but for now I'm being stretched and used here at a company doing some amazing things which is very rewarding.
