downloading resources
I am a new user. When I tap the Info button, it shows all the info, but the Download button turns gray instantly, instead of being green, so whether I tap or hold or whatever, no downloading happens. any idea as to why I am unable to download anything? I have a Logos account and am signed in and everything. I can't get anything to download.

For clarification… I assume that you mean you have a free account, and have not purchased a base package. Is that right?

Only resources which you own a license for are available to download. The mobile apps come with a number of resources for which you are not granted a license, so consequently, these are "online only." If you actually own these resources, please let us know. In that case, there may be an issue with your account which would require a Logos employee to look at.

Thanks for replying. No, I haven't purchased anything. I simply downloaded the free Logos app. In its description, it described 60+ free resources, so I assumed the ones that come up in the app for use are the free ones. So somewhere on the website I find a way to purchase a license? are there not any free resources for downloading then?0

Yes, those are the free ones… and they are free for you to use online. If you were to purchase a license for those resources, you would be able to download them.

Yes. Let me explain a couple of things.
First, you can't purchase anything via the app itself. This is due to Apple's App policy of requiring a 30% cut of anything sold through an app. Instead, all purchases must be made via a web browser.
Second, let me share a little about Logos. The primary business for Logos is a desktop application called "Logos 5" (aka L5). The desktop app is free, but you must pay for resources. Many users purchase what are called "base packages," which are large collections of books. These are good values, but they are not cheap. When you have a large base package, it is like going to the library on your computer to find what you need. The more books you have, the greater the chance of success.
Purchasing resources through Logos, however, is not confined to base packages. You can purchase individual resources as well (although some resources are only found in packages). Additionally, Logos has several other "brands" including Faithlife and Vyrso. Faithlife is a study bible / social site. Vyrso is a christian "trade book" store (the kinds of books you would see at a local "christian" book store… everything from Amish romance novels to "Christian Living"). All of these resources integrate with the other apps as well.

I am not sure which of the resources you may have been given a license to, but there are books which you can acquire a license for free and download. If you go to the faithlife site I linked to above, you can get a number of free resources by signing up, including a very well done audio book of the LEB NT. Make sure to use the same username & password as Logos. You should also check out Vyrso. There are free books there all the time (I check daily). You can also sort the list at Logos to find some free resources. NOTE: you will need to use a credit card for "billing" purposes, but you will not be charged for anything unless you purchase a book.
