iPad and Logos Website
Last night and this morning I tried to view the Logos website (homepage).
When not signed in and after app. 5 seconds I get a pop-up window which says "Don't Miss Out" etc. This pop-up window will not go away. Selecting either the "x" or "no thanks" option does nothing. I could not sign in and make the purchases I was intending to make ....
I contacted Logos. An exchange of e-mails last night accomplished nothing except Logos saying there is no problem with their website ....
Can anyone else (1) using iPad and (2) not already sign in, replicate this problem?

I get the pop-up, but clicking on the X closed it.
Have you tried closing Safari (or the browser you're using) down in the open apps ribbon you see when double clicking the Home button?

Mark,
Thanks for the reply. I have tried closing Safari numerous times and even rebooted the iPad. Nothing seems to work. [:'(]

Care to give a screenshot? Press and hold both buttons for a few seconds. In the forums, you can navigate to the photo via the paper clip icon.

I am running 6.1.3. As I originally said neither the X or the No Thanks are working. Your pic looks like mine ...

Have you tried killing ALL of your apps via the multi-task bar? If that doesn't work, have you tried chrome (shown in screen shot)

Chrome is the most used web browser on the market, made by Google. There is an iOS mobile version. I normally use Safari unless I need a second browser for some reason. You can download it free in the App Store.

Thanks. I may try it - have to think about it. However, I really do not wish to add something like a new browser unless I really need it. Since the Logos Homepage is my only problem, then it may just be better for me to plan not to use my iPad to surf Logos and make purchases, etc. (I rarely do this anyway - but it was an immediate need the other day so ...).IMO the Logos Homepage should be compatible with Safari.
Since it did not work the other day it actually kept me from spending more $$$ than I should for Logos compatibility.

Like others have noted, if I click on the "X" the popup disappeared
My Safari settings are as below:
Not sure if any of these would affect this but thought it worth checking if you had any different settings

Graham,Many thanks. I always have "private browsing" on. When I turn it off, the website works. So, that was the culprit. It would be nice though to allow us access to the Logos website with "private browsing" on, as it is a little more secure.Again, many thanks.Graham Criddle said:5 Solas said:

Glad we got to the bottom of it.
I'll need to leave it to Logos to consider whether private browsing could be considered / enabled.

Logos is now aware of it and from what I understood of my last phone call they are working on it.
Thanks again for your assistance, and for everyone's efforts.Graham Criddle said:5 Solas said:When I turn it off, the website works. So, that was the culprit. It would be nice though to allow us access to the Logos website with "private browsing" on, as it is a little more secure

Repaired today!
After seeing no action on this event for a few weeks and after being forced to purchased some more books elsewhere - when traveling I normally use an iPad and w/o a secure connection I will not make a purchase - I finally e-mailed Bob last night. The pop-up now appears to be off the front page on my iPad. Finally secure connection iPad purchases are once again possible. Thanks Bob.Yours In Christ
