Setting up custom reading plan on iOS without buying a package
I would like to set up a custom reading plan for Logos on the iPad. I don't want to use the default ones and I don't want to read any books (except the Bible) in Logos. If things were better financially, I would be buying Logos packages left and right.
FIrst, I realized that setting up custom reading plans is done on the either the Mac or Windows version and then synced to your mobile device. So, I downloaded the software and attempted to set one up. However, this is where I'm stuck. Do I have to buy a package just to get a version of the Bible on my Mac? The iPad software comes with several versions for free. Why can't I use them on the Mac software?
If I have to buy an expensive package just to get a version of the Bible on my Mac so that I can set up custom reading plans on the iPad, well that seems quite ridiculous. If that's the case, I'll go use someone else's software. Otherwise, if its possible with Logos, let me know and you will have a customer in the future when times are better.

When you use resources in Logos, you need to acquire a license. Logos has arranged with some publishers to grant you access on the mobile app, but they don't grant you the ability to download them.
If you want access on your computer, you have a couple of options. First, you can sign up for Faithlife. This will give you the licenses for a number of resources, including the LEB bible. Alternatively, you can purchase individual translations. What one do you prefer?

No - there are many free resources including the Lexham English Bible: please see http://www.logos.com/products/search?start=&sort=pricelo&pageSize=15
Once you download the LEB to Logos on your Mac you can create custom reading plans that will sync to mobile devices. I hope this helps.

Thanks. I prefer the ESV.

Wow! Thanks everyone. I was under the impression that you had to buy one of the base packages (starting at $160) in order to buy those other components. When the ESV came free in the iPad version, and not on the Mac, I was confused. I can do $10.

For clarification... You can get the ESV (and a number of other translations) for $10, but the reverse interlinear's won't come with it. You can pick those up later in a base package.
I think in time you will find that Logos isn't cheap, but it is a good value if you desire to have an electronic library.

Thanks for your candid observation; the last thing we want is for customers to be confused and so I will raise this issue internally. I hope you will find Logos software useful.
