Trouble Activating Libronix

I   need some help:

I have just purchased two software items that use Libronix (Word Biblical Commentary & Tyndale Commentaries - not the Logos system itself).

I loaded them into the computer, and when I went to register them, I was told to go to "Account Manager", which I did.

I entered the serial numbers for them both – but the "next" button would not highlight for me to continue. The "Help File" says that I have to go through "Account Manager" in order to set up an account in order to register them – but it won't let me even get to that stage.

I have double checked.

Triple checked.

Removed the software and started again – and still nothing.

Has anybody had this problem before?

How did you resolve it?

Later this evening:

This is getting stranger:

I went to my wife's computer, and loaded one of the programs onto it.

It loaded perfectly, and I was able to create an account, activate the program – and received back the "Confirmation Code" as well as the "Activation Code".

I went back to my computer and, using the "Existing User" check box and "Enter Codes", progressed through.

However, when I typed in my "Customer ID" and then the "Confirmation Code", and pressed "next" – nothing!

Stuck.

Obviously the problem is my computer – but I don't know why.

I did notice on my wife's computer that when I typed in the Serial Number, the box turned     RED     until I had completed typing the number in. It didn't do this on my machine.

My wife is running Vista, I am running Windows 7.

Beyond that – I don't know what is going on.

Any help would be most gratefully received.

Perhaps a call to customer service is required? They are open 6 A.M. - 6 P.M. PDT (GMT-8h) Monday-Saturday on phone numbers: toll free within the U.S and Canada: 877-697-9497, or from other countries +1 360 603 5566

I hope they will be able to help You out!

    Welcome to the forums!

After that is done You will be able to install Logos 5 if You want to, it has faster searches and works well on newer computers, ~3 years old or newer. Using Libronix/Logos 3 can be necessary on very old slow computers with inadequate RAM and CPU.

Obviously the problem is my computer – but I don't know why.

If you are running Libronix (not the newer Logos), some of the interface features do not work correctly with newer versions of Internet Explorer installed.

There is a patch which will fix the issues on some computers. See this thread.

James, Libronix is no longer supported, so a call to Customer Service will not help.

I have had trouble installing Libronix in Windows 7 but had no trouble in Vista, which seems to be what you are experiencing.

Since Libronix came out, Logos has has two major releases: Logos 4 and Logos 5. If you installed Libronix simply to use The Word Commentaries and Tyndale Commentaries, you can use them under Logos 5 or 4. Your Windows 7 machine can probably run Logos 5 efficiently. Your Vista machine could. You can find the minimal machine specs here: http://www.logos.com/support/tech-faq

To install Logos 5 go here: http://www.logos.com/support/logos5/windows/install

If you registered the software and also synchronized your licenses on your wife's PC, all you need to do is install Logos 5, log in with your Customer ID, and Logos will recognize your licenses and download the latest updates to the Word and Tyndale Commentaries. It will then index them for faster search results.

This has been the strangest set of circumstances.

    •  As I mentioned, I loaded Libronix – but after several attempts, could not register the software I had purchased.
    •  I downloaded Logos 5 – as someone on the Forum helpfully suggested – but  I still could not register the software I had purchased.
    •  After numerous attempts, I gave up and "uninstalled" both Libronix and Logos 5.
    •  I then went on to do some of my "real work" – and found that Microsoft Word had changed. I normally do my work on A5 paper  – a good size for sermons. But all of a sudden Word didn't have an A5 option.
    •  I proceeded to work in A4 – and when I went to print out my Bible Study for tomorrow night – both of my printers had disappeared.
    •  I tried to load the printer drivers – and neither were accepted by the computer. "Not compatible with this version of Windows" was the error message.
    •  I was thinking "virus" through the various downloads – but I had run the scans, so that wasn't it. So, as a "last resort", I did a "system restore" to a point prior to my attempt with Libronix – and everything is now back to normal.
    •  I am not blaming these other software products. Obviously, something happened that was incompatible, or overwrote what was there, or something. I am just glad it is back to normal. Well, my version of normal, anyway.

     Many thanks for everyone's suggestions.

    James,

You cannot register the software through Logos 5. You said you had installed it on your wife's computer. If you established a Logos account there, registered the products there and synched the licenses over the Internet there, you would have been able to install Logos 5 on your computer and log in to your Logos account as a part of running L5 the first time. Then L5 would have downloaded your resource files.

The other option is to install L5, then call Logos Support (or email), and ask them to activate the product directly. They will update your user account and then L5 will be able to detect you have licenses for the two sets and download an index them.

The issues you have had are some I've never heard of happening as a result of installing Logos software. Are the discs you have originals and in their original packaging?

Hello.  I'm new to Libronix and am having the same problem as the above.  When I enter the serial numbers for my two commentary sets it doesn't allow me to click on the "next" button.  I am using Windows 8, which appears to be part of the problem.  I downloaded Logos 5 and am still not sure how I can use my resources.  Kind of frustrating.  Should be easier and less of a hassle than this.  Logos went through its synchronization process, but of course there is nothing to synchronize, because I can't register my cd's.  Any suggestions?

    Any suggestions?

The easiest way to access them is to call Logos and read them the serial numbers over the phone and they will instantly unlock the resources in Logos 5 for you. I've done it several times with no problems.

Libronix (aka Logos 3) is two versions old now and is no longer supported. As you've discovered, Logos 5 is the current version, and it will run well on Windows 8. To activate serial numbers from a Libronix CD, you'll need to call Customer Service and read those serial numbers to them over the phone (or you could do it via email; the address is also in that same link I provided). Then they'll unlock them for you. Be sure to give them the same email address as you used for installing Logos 5.

James - I am running Windows 7 and trying to load Libtronics 3.0.  I called tech support and they told me to download Logos 5 and synch the licenses - problem is, I can put the serial number in under the Account manager - but it will not let me go any further - any suggestions?  I bought it sometime back, just haven't taken the time to load it.

    God bless

Contact Customer Services and get them to register the serial number.

You can now activate your Libronix serial number online (which will automatically sync to Logos 5): https://www.logos.com/redeem

If you have any problems, please call Customer Service for assistance.

Nice! This is a good idea. Thanks!

(Out of curiosity, does it work with Logos 4 accounts?)

Yes, serial numbers activated via that form will also be unlocked in Logos 4. But unless you're still running XP (which is a bad idea for all the reasons recently covered in the media), we recommend updating to Logos 5 for free: https://www.logos.com/installation

Hi I just purchased the Bible Speaks Today NT series (22 vol) from our local Christian bookshop (Koorong) in Melbourne. The disc installed ok but as mentioned above I can't seem to activate the software. I can enter the serial number but the 'NEXT' button is greyed out. My system runs on Win 7 64-bit and I've updated th Libronix DLS to version 3.0g.

Tried activating the software via the form on Logos.com only to be directed to products page with message that says something like 'that product is no longer sold'

Er sorry ... so I installed Logos 5 and all the BST NT books show up in my library. Apparently it works, folks :) - but I left my queries above anyway in case it may be of help.

Are you running Windows 8.1? It can interfere with some web services that LDLS3 needs for product activation.

The core functionality behind the "Redeem" web page is working, but the UI is still in a very early stage. As you later discovered, redirecting to the product page (which displays a "no longer sold") message actually means that the activation succeeded. Sorry for the confusion.

After putting in the Serial number and going through the steps in the following article solved my problem with Libronix 3.0g in Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, I deleted the Logos 4 Serial Number option and Next became available:
