Bug: Bible app freezes when returning to it after hours away
4th gen iPad; 128GB wifi; iOS 6.1.3; Bible app v3.3.3.
I use the Logos Bible app daily, primarily for extended reading and highlighting / note-taking of seminary material. It's frequently the last thing I'm reading before I go to bed each evening. Each morning, I go into the app to read the day's Bible passages.
Lately (last couple of months maybe?), when I go into the app in the morning, it is completely unresponsive for perhaps 15 - 20 seconds. Note that the app has not restarted - there is no splash screen. It comes up displaying the last book / page that I was reading. I touch the arrow icon to access history, and no response. The network activity icon is spinning, so Logos is doing something over the network at that point. I assume there's some kind of sync operation in progress.
I understand that the app needs to sync, but that activity can't get in the way of being able to use the app immediately upon bringing it up.
Thanks,
Donnie

Can you post logs of this behavior?

I see the instructions for how to get logs after a crash, but I'm not sure how to generate them on-demand. The only time I connect my iPad to iTunes is when I do an iOS update, so any means for uploading logs that involves iTunes is going to get mental resistance from me. Add a "post logs" button on the app's "About" screen - have them show up on the user's "documents" web location.

I think what Tommy is referring to is going into the Settings menu, clicking Help and then selecting "Send Support Info"
Does this help?

To add to what Graham wrote... It will create an email. Change the "to:" line to your own email address to get the log file to post in this thread.

No, this does not help. It requires an smtp-based email profile to have been configured on the device, which I don't have. I have 2 gmail accounts that I access via the gmail app on the iPad, but no email profiles configured in the built-in "Mail" app.
FWIW, it happened again this morning. Logos came up to the resource/page I was last reading, I touched the screen to access the history icon, then long-touched the history icon to get the dropdown of recent history. By that time, the network activity icon was spinning; and the app wouldn't respond to selecting an item in the history list for 10 - 15 seconds.
Thanks for the attempts to help,
Donnie

Have you done a fresh install recently?

I don't understand the question. A fresh install of iOS on the iPad? A fresh install of the app? Are you suggesting that this might have caused the problem? Or are you suggesting that it might fix the problem?
Thanks,
Donnie

Sorry Donnie... I meant the app. Sometimes deleting and reinstalling fixes glitches.
