Slide Transition Bug on Mac

Every time I use my MacBook Pro to run Proclaim the slide transitions are very jittery. By jittery I mean when I hit the "next" arrow, the words on the screen jump for a second and then the next slide displays. As well, since the latest update when I try to click on a slide that is not the next in order the presentation jumps back to the very beginning of the song, bible verse, etc...

The problem seemed to have been fixed when the presentation started and then after about 1 minute of being "On Air" the jittery slide transitions began again. I did test out changing slides by clicking on them instead of changing them with the arrow key and that problem seems to have been fixed. Thanks for your time on this.

I have used Proclaim on my macbook a few more times and the bug seems to still be there. The words on the screen still "jump" before transitioning to the next slide. This is not only happening with songs but is also happening with Bible verses as well. Anytime that I use the software on a PC this never happens. It just seems to be a problem when using a Mac. Thanks for taking the time to look into this!

I'm still seeing the problem - I've got jittery slides - I had to remove the fade transition midstream today b/c it was getting very distracting

Hi Travis,

Was there an update pushed out today (or later yesterday) that might have resolved this issue? I'm looking at my presentation from this past Sunday - the one that was giving me jittery problems btwn the slide transitions, and it appears to be working properly now?? I ask because there have been a couple of times where it appeared to be working recently and the issues came back.

my guess is that it is a driver/core image issue. I could also be the way chromium integrates.

I am using 1.10 on my systems it seems to be a problem over time, which lends in my mind to a memory leak

thx, Philip...Are you seeing this problem as well? I'd be interested to hear what a Proclaim tech has to say about your thoughts...I don't know enough about drivers/memory etc. to understand if it might be our problem. Our iMac is running Mountain Lion with an Intel core 2 duo, 2.66GHz processor speed and 8 GB of memory

Which leads me to the fact that we are still experiencing the problem...I might add a couple of things I noticed while working with it this weekend. I do not have the problem when I use the "order of service' - left navigation column, to progress my slides or start a song...but of course after I start a song I need to use the the left right arrows to progress the lyrics within the song and then I see the jittery (words jump). although I don't see it with each transition/slide..it's pretty random, which makes it hard to diagnose. Same thing will happen if I have added bible verses that take up more than one slide and need to progress using my keyboard or onscreen buttons (other than the left navigation column, like a mentioned earlier.

Let me Unpack this a bit. We are making a transition from ProPresenter.

I work in tv as my main job so i understand some of the issues as it applies to video production.

One of the main reasons we are trying out Proclaim is the fact that i can work on ROS from home, as well as distribute the load using Planning Center with our praise and worship ministry.

my imac has 20gb of ram with a 2g video card. EVEN at superior specs i noticed the jitter or redraw after about 20 mins. When looking deeper as a geek i discovered this application runs on the Chromium (google) engine. That tells me it is browser based. This is very different than ProPresenter4 that is a standalone application that has configurable prefs to the graphics card.

If you notice when you try to look at preferences in proclaim it is greyed out. There is no real config you can change to give it more resources. This is the exact reason it works better on windoze. Apple doesnt allow access to trick the gpu drivers.

After discussing my issues of professional AND consistent worship experience, we are going to stay for a bit longer ; as it is first generation cloud based service.

In its essence Proclaim is a web browser. Thus the same way you might have issues just surfing around and collecting cache files and bloating your memory pool-I have a STRONG suspicion that is what is happening.

i dont know if this helps but know that you are not alone. I really like Proclaim, but as it stands it is not consistent for 3 service Sundays. Which makes me sad.

Thanks for the post. I was running into similar issues with Proclaim running on a Mac at our church. I installed Google Chrome onto the Mac in hopes that it would install all the drivers and support to our computer for Proclaim. It seems to have worked! Our transitions are smooth between our worship songs, loops, and powerpoint slides.
