Unexpected lectionary display on home page

Before going to church today I loaded up Logos 5.1.0.0943 to look at the lessons. I have Logos set to display my church's lectionary - namely the LCMS's Lutheran Service Book 3 year lectionary.

I got a bit confused looking at it since on the home page it listed the Psalm first, then Isaiah, then Luke, then Galatians - not the expected Old Testament reading (Isaiah), Psalm, Epistle (Galatians) and Gospel (Luke) reading order.

I clicked on the item in the home page, and this took me to the actual lectionary, as well as opening bibles and commentaries, etc. The Lectionary resource displayed the readings in my expected order. However, Logos automatically opened bibles/commentaries to the Psalm. For some reason Logos seems to be taking the readings from the lectionary and re-sorting them into canonical order.

Do we have to adjust to Logos, or can Logos adjust the the expectations of those of us who regularly use the lectionary in worship?

I think that the new Lectionary auto-layout is a bit of overkill for simply accessing daily readings. As a result, I've put a shortcut to the Lectionary (Catholic Lectionary, in my case) on my toolbar instead. With one click, the CL opens to the day's readings, which are pulled from a translation other than my default Bible version. A single click of any of the visible references opens my default Bible translation, and now I have a quick, usable layout from whence to explore the daily readings.

This used to be the result of clicking on the Lectionary entry on the home page: you'd get your preferred Lectionary + default Bible, opened to the day's readings in a 2-up layout.

The LCMS Lutheran Service Book 3 year Lectionary is my lectionary also ... I thank you for noticing the various "interesting" things that are happening from Home Page.

I will be examining the situation in great detail later on today OR tomorrow morning; however, my preliminary assessment is that I like very much the "options" that Logos 5.1 is giving me. It's amazing to me how much variation one can get when clicking on different parts of the lectionary from Home Page.

I think I've never noticed it before because 99% of the time I open my lectionary into an active layout. It just loads and not much else -- if anything -- happens ... This morning I loaded it into a "blank layout" which gives me the various options. I need to play with this a bit .... I realise that it requires some mental planning ... (understanding the various options) .l... but ... I think I may like it ....... *smile*

At least you can still view the lectionary. I have mine selected, but it doesn't show because for some reason the option has been grayed out.

That was noted in the beta test and I think a bug was registered (it could be restricted to the OP's issue, though).

my bottom line is that I'm quite happy with the way it functions ... *smile*

I much preferred the old, 2-up layout myself. I hope Logos might make the default lectionary layout customizable because the current one is just too much stuff I don't need open.

Might you be able to point me to directions for putting a shortcut on the toolbar, or explain how to do so? That might be a good, though not ideal, solution for me.
