BUG: Importing annotations and verselists from Libronix 3 (SESB)

Hi,

when importing annotations (now called "notes") from Libronix 3.0 (SESB version) to Logos 5 (Windows 8) I noticed a bug: Only links to targets out of the Old Testament work. Annotations to elements of NT are imported but they are not linked to the Documents. After some testing I found the reason for this behaviour. If annotations in a *.lbxnot file of Libronix 3.0 are coded like "bible+bhs...." then links to a New Testament book aren't established. If I change the file and replace "bible+bhs." with "bible." it works fine.

A really unsolved problem is the import of verselists (now called "passage lists") from Libronix 3.0 to Logos 5. When trying this Logos 5 crashes. After a restart the passage list is present but empty. At the moment I can't find a solution for this bug. Does anyone have an idea?

After some testing I found the reason for this behaviour.

Did you prepare the notes beforehand (steps 1 & 2 of the wiki)?

A really unsolved problem is the import of verselists (now called "passage lists") from Libronix 3.0 to Logos 5. When trying this Logos 5 crashes.

I can reproduce the crash following the import passage lists command.

I've never used L3, so maybe I should shut up, but isn't it possible to simply select and copy the list in L3, and then use Add From Clipboard in a new L5 Passage List?

Yes! It didn't work with or without preparation (I tested both methods).

Where can I find this "crash report" on my system? It would be interesting to compare it to yours.

Yes! That doesn't work because my references are in german (eg "Johannes 1,1") and they would only be recognized by "add from clipboard" if they where noted in the us/english form like "John 1:1". But indeed it would be a workaround to export them to a text file and transform them with search&replace. It only would cost me some work (and not the software developers at logos.com ... (;-))

Nevertheless: a program should not crash at all, even not with a rather simple task ...

Thanks for digging into this; your explanation makes sense, and makes it a lot easier to reproduce the problem. I've filed a bug on this.

This will be fixed in 5.1 SR-1. Unfortunately, there is no workaround for this problem.

For details of crash and logging reports see http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging. The crash report LogosCrash.txt is produced automatically and you will also find it in LogosError.log, but it will be the same as mine as you are on Windows.
