Can we have a "Send to Passage Guide" link?

Some times when reading through the Scriptures, I would like to easily generate a new Passage Guide search starting from the place I've got to. Could we have a right click command, which along with the usual copy/paste options generates a new Passage guide search,

I know it's not very difficult to manually type or copy/paste a reference into the search box, but a right click command, kick starting the process from within the scriptures would be a lot easier.

Or perhaps even from within the text itself? Thanks.

Steven, good suggestion.

However, if I open a new passage guide on my system the default reference is whatever is in the active Bible window. Are you experiencing something different?

Hi Richard, Glad you liked the suggestion - but I now feel pretty stupid. I've never thought of opening a new passage guide, but have always navigated back to the one I had in the first place!! What a bozo! It just goes to show how easy it is through inexperience (or incompetence) to fall into bad habits. Thanks for putting me right!

But I still think that my suggestion has some mileage to it.

Feeling stupid is a fairly common occurrence for me too. But there's no reason to wallow in the feeling. Be free! [;)]

I wonder how many things I do for which there is an easier way to do them, if I would only express some frustration at what I think should happen, and then have someone suggest something obvious. I'm definitely going for a Morris Proctor seminar some time in the near future.

As for PG's, I always run a new one for each passage I study -- probably because that's how I've always done it. I like to start with a clean slate for each passage I study, so this fits my personality too.

Your suggestion has merit for those who simply want to send the data to a current PG that is open and no longer needed.

Stephen, how is what you are suggesting different from selecting a biblical passage, right-clicking, and running the passage guide from the Reference tab? Am I missing something?

This opens a new passage guide too, rather than changing the already open passage guide to reference the new Scripture text which is I believe what Stephen was wanting to do.

I've been thinking of suggesting that Logos implement a more extensive drag-and-drop feature whereby you could drag and drop onto an open tab and change what is visible in that tab. Kind of like in Windows, where you can drag a file onto the icon of any application or printer and it will cause that icon/application to "do its thing" to the file (open the file, print the file, etc.). It's more object-oriented. I'll start a new thread for my suggestion, but in this case, dragging a selection from an open Bible to the tab of the Passage Guide would refresh the passage guide with that new reference.

Hey, I've often found that I could put experience and logic together to fall into very creative bad habits ... it's always the obvious, not the subtle that bites one. I nearly posted a bonehead post on not being able to drag and drop URL's ...
