Opening resources in split screen mode

With the Android app in split screen mode, how do I determine which screen is replaced when opening a new resource? I often have two Bibles open and want to replace one by a commentary but then sometimes the wrong screen is replaced.

    Ensure your last action was performed on the resource you want replaced.

    hi Mark:
    Put your device in "horizontal" position, so the screen is split by a vertical line.  If you swipe your finger from the top of the screen in your left pane, then the search dialog applies to your left pane resource.  Any action from here applies to the same resource.

    If you swipe your finger from to top, over the right pane, then your actions will afect that resource.
