Indexing 12 hours every time I add new resources?

I love the new Logos 4. But I have a question (and a fear). I have over 3,400 resources in my library. The initial indexing took about a day and a night. OK, that was done and then it searched with unbelievable speed.

Then I added four new resources and it started indexing again. It said it would be 12 hours. I was a bit surprised but let it go all night. It was not done in the morning but had an error. I started it again and now it has been going all morning and has 8 hours to go still.

Two questions: 1) Is this correct; is it working correctly? and 2) Is it going to do this EVERY time I add resources? (this is my fear.)

I would not think four resources would take 8 hours to index, unless those resources were very large multi-volume resources.

It should not rebuild your entire index each time you add a resource, unless there is a certain percentage of other resources waiting to be merged as well (someone suggested that this number is 25%).

It will rebuild if you click "Merge Indexes" (which appears on the search menu if you have some resources that are indexed, but waiting to be merged with the main index).
