I'd like to see Logos implement a more extensive drag-and-drop feature whereby you could drag and drop just about anything from just about anywhere onto an open tab and change what is visible in that tab, with the behavior contextually dependent on what was dragged and where it was dropped. Kind of like in Windows, where you can drag a file onto the icon of any application or printer and it will cause that icon/application to "do its thing" to the file (open the file, print the file, etc.). It's more object-oriented.
Some examples to illustrate what I mean:
- Drag from a selection in a Bible to the tab of the Passage Guide would refresh the passage guide with that new reference range.
- Select the Scripture reference in any reference box and drag that to a resource tab of any resource that is indexed by Scripture, would scroll that resource to that particular Scripture reference.
- Drag a Scripture reference hyperlink from any resource to the tab of any other resource indexed by Scripture, would jump to that Scripture reference in the latter resource
- Drag the tab of an open Bible onto the Search tab and it will select that Bible in the "Search in" dropdown of that Search tab. [This one might not be such a good idea, because it would be hard to tell whether the user was trying to do this or (more likely) trying to move the tab to the left or right of the Search tab]
- Drag any selection from anywhere to the Clippings tab will create a new clipping with that selected text in it.
I'm sure other ideas could be thought of.
