Mac/Windows Display Different Contents

I most use Logos 4 on my Mac, but also have the Windows version via BootCamp on my Mac.

I was most surprised to discover that when switching between the two platforms that entirely different contents are being displayed on startup.

For example, the Windows version displays info-graphics on the Temple Judgement Seat on one portion of the screen while the Mac version displays Karkemesh in a different location on the screen.

Elsewhere, Soloman's Temple is displayed on the Mac but nothing similar in Windows.

Why then are almost completely different contents being displayed in the Mac and Windows version of Logos4?

Welcome to the forums Christopher. The startup screen info-graphics and other contents on the home page are different each time you start Logos whether on windows or mac. It randomly picks up items from your library each time. This can be turned on-off in the home page display settings I believe.

As Sleiman suggested, this isn't a Mac vs. PC issue. The articles are randomly selected. If you had two PC's or two Mac's, you would find the same thing.

Out of curiosity… why haven't you switched to the free L5 engine? As long as your computer specs are "up to spec," you are encouraged to update. What OS are you running?

I'm running the latest OS. I haven't upgraded to the Logos5 'engine' because I did not know this was possible.

I currently use Logos4 Bible Study LE.

I get regular messages encouraging me to upgrade to the latest package - but the 'Minimal Crossgrade' costs $134/£88.

As I am long-term unemployed I cannot justify the expenditure.

So, where do I find this free Logos5 engine?

When L5 first came out, the engine was only available to those who were purchasing new base packages. It is now available to everyone. Your old base package will work just fine. Some of the new features require new datasets, which you could acquire if you so choose via the "minimal crossgrade," but you do not need to do so to make your current features work in L5. Since L5 is a continuation of L4, it is recommended for all users.
