duplicated info in pop-up

When I hover over a strongs number in “Complete Word Study Dictionary: New Testament,” the pop-up window always shows the same information TWICE. In the screenshot I am hovering over “3982” immediately below and left of the pop-up.

James, thanks for reaching out. My first thought was that your pop-up is being fed by two different dictionaries, but I wasn't able to reproduce the same result. I've passed along your note to our customer service team. They may have an answer for us.

Why is it duplicated?

Forgive me if this sounds a bit complex, but I can explain what's going on.

It's caused because the resource has two 'links' from this Strong's number. One is a hard-link (sometimes called a resource link) to #3982 in this specific resource, so if you click on that link you'll be taken to the right place in that resource. The other is a datatype link. These links don't point to a single resource, but will take you to the most highly prioritised resource that supports Strong's numbers. You can see them in the right-click menu, below. The hard-link is just called 'Link', whilst the datatype link is called 'Greek Strong's'. You'll notice that the 'link' only goes to The Complete Word Study Dictionary, whilst 'Greek Strong's can open in any of the five dictionaries listed on the left-hand side.

Datatype links are useful because (a) you can search for them [show me all the places where there's a link to Strong's #3982], and (b) you have control over where they will open. However, it might be confusing because if you clicked on a datatype link you could be taken to a different resource, rather than the current resource, which is probably not what you want. So Logos used both types of link, so that you get the best of both worlds - if you click the link you stay in the resource, but if you can still search for the datatype links, and right-click to open your preferred lexicon.

When there are two links in the same place (the hard-link and the datatype link), Logos shows them both in the pop-up. In my case, my most highly prioritised resource is A New Strong's Dictionary of Hebrew and Greek Words. So when I hover over a link, the hard-link means I see a preview from the current resource, whilst the datatype link shows a preview from A New Strong's Dictionary (see below). In your case, however, the CWSD:NT is the most highly prioritised resource, so you see the same preview in both cases.

I guess Logos could fix this by only showing the second preview if it is different from the first, but whether that's an easy fix, or they see it as a priority, I don't know.
