How to change highlighter colors in one document

In a LearnLogos4 tutorial it mentions you can change colors of the highlighter by turning your mouse. I have a roller ball mouse and working in Logos 5.1 I can get the highlighter to turn on, but it is always red. I wanted to be able to use one color for a topic and within in the same text document change and use a second color for a different topic and so on. Is there a way to do that easily without having to manually click in the highlighter window? Appreciate any help you can give.

Perhaps you are talking about the demonstration mode accessed by pressing F8. In that mode (not meant for study but for demonstrating Logos to someone else) you change the pen colors by using the scroll wheel on the mouse.

For normal text highlighting in resources the style and color of the highlight must be selected from the Highlighting Palettes tool

You can assign keyboard shortcuts to any highlighting style you want. For example, I have assigned "Y" as yellow, and "R" as red. Does that answer your question, or are you looking for a mouse driven solution?

Hi Alabama, I tried clicking on the yellow solid color and asking the shortcut to be Y. Then when I go into the text and hit Control Y nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? These shortcuts would be an answer for me. Thanks so much. Just not sure how to get it to work.

Thanks for your help and information. That is probably what was being done in the tutorial. I still couldn't get it to work, but another post suggested creating shortcuts for each color I need... this may work better for me at this time. Thanks a million.

That's one I'd never heard of! Nice. Will be useful for screenshots.

(It's Cmd-F8 on Mac, though, in case someone else wants to try.)

Thanks for the info. Yes I see by being in the demo mode I get a red marker to underline etc. But since I have a roller ball mouse I don't seem to be able to change colors like you mention using a scroll wheel on a mouse. Maybe there is a way... I haven't a clue to get it to do it on my roller ball mouse. Any thoughts? Great tool though for demos. Have a great day, [:)]

I don't either. The wiki article has no help and neither does the Help file or the Logos web site. I have tried the key-left-click combos I could think of and none of them work.
