Yeah, installed without a hitch. I am digging into it now
Good News
- I can once again see results in PG
- We now have an Information window!
And Power Lookup, too!
Official Release Notes have now been posted --> http://community.logos.com/forums/t/7280.aspx
Excellent, installed without a hitch and the new features work as advertised.
my install AOK
Home page bar/option across the top now working. The Bible options worked for me in A6, but I lost it in A7None of the others, "Lectionary", "Read the Bible in a Year" are working for me.I'd like to be able to rearrange the order these appear in - is that on the cards somewhere?
Also the "GO" bar is back - lost that in A7 as well.
Info Panel looks good - garbled the text a couple of times - but I can't replicate it so not sure what caused it.
Power Lookup - populates but not entirely sure what it's searching - results seem a bit vague (like me, I know!)
Also noticed in the Passage Guide that some Commentaries still opening in the Bible Window
Also noticed that in the Exegetical Guide - that results are intermittant - sometimes they show, sometimes they don't.However when they do, I've now got results in "Grammars" - I haven't seen this in any of the earlier editions.
BTW - I'm using Platinum version - not sure if that affects any of the above.
But overall, it's starting to look real nice and is also useable now - not anywhere near as useable as Libronix yet - but can see the potential

Loving A8, keeps me looking forward. Rus
I love it too. Started using Parallels, but I´m not as happy with parallels as with A8... looking forward for more.
What I would really like in Alpha are the interlinears, that is pretty much the only reason I went for parallels.
Felipe,
I can open my interlinears from my Library in A8.

I can display my NA27 interlinear, but I cannot display my ESV interlinear unless I am missing something.
Nice to see features coming on line, but I sure hope that there is a dramatic improvement in speed. I'm assuming the interface is so sluggish because this is still an Alpha stage. Using features like the information panel are so incredibly slow, even on a fast machine with lots of memory.
but I sure hope that there is a dramatic improvement in speed
Normally during development, optimization of the code is one of the later stages. The first goal is just to get everything to work. Once that happens, getting to work faster is easier.
Cool, I did not realize the interlinears had been added back in as separate resource. I know lots of folks will be happy about that one.
Mark, just a bit of history. During the Beta Testing for the Windows version of L4, there were huge speed improvements from Beta 1 to the final Beta before release. So I agree with Terry, memory leaks tend to be a focus on later releases after the major bugs are killed. Practically speaking, it doesn't do any good to optimize speed only to find ti is lost again when a bug comes up. So killing bugs first seems to be the priority before memory leaks.
Two weeks smooo weeks. You guys are rocking at releases! Thanks, look forward to checking it out in a few minutes.
all about Christ,David
Good job Mac team! This one is getting very usable. I too have been working mostly in Parallels but think I will do my Sunday School prep in Mac this week. It is exciting to see the progress. Thank you!!
highlighting done?
Felipe, I can open my interlinears from my Library in A8. Rus Howard
What interlinears can be opened? I can´t open the ESV interlinear cause it´s integrated to the ESV and in alpha can´t be used... yet
