I am planning on buying NICOT/NT when it goes on sale.... I need to plan for it first. What is the lowest it goes typically?
I'd be happy to help you with that if you'd like to contact me.
Back in May it was on sale for $1299. Sales are rare this set. I got it on pre-pub for about $1,000 - but there were other volumes added after that.
Kevin, do you work for Logos? I can't figure out how to find your email in your profile. Here is mine miketourangeau (at) (DOT) - ME
No I don't work for Logos.
What's between the @ and the DOT?

I got the whole set for $1089.95 during this sale in 2012.http://blog.logos.com/2012/09/only-3-days-left-for-back-to-school-savings/
It was $999.95 back in 2011 when it had fewer volumes.http://blog.logos.com/2011/08/new-international-commentary-get-the-lowest-price-in-years-during-the-back-to-school-sale/
Best bet -- wait for this year's back to school sale.
Sales are rare this set.
Eh? Rare? It's been on sale 2-3-4 times a year as long as I've been here. I'm not sure there's anything that's on sale as often as NIC*T. And they're usually great sales.
I wish that, just once, they would have an equally great sale on AYB!
[Y] that...
and the complete ICC
David, that set has dynamic pricing (but You probably knew that and I wasn't intending to talk You into buying individual volumes). It's not complete yet as International Critical Commentary Upgrade Collection (6 vols.) is still in pre-pub:

But even if they did, I need to wait until my present Logos payment plan is paid off before doing another.

HMM. Your memory must be better than mine. Which by itself isn't probably saying much. [;)]
I too have been waiting for some time for a significant sale on AYB.

Isn't the NICOT/NICNT a little less dated than AYB? Correct me if I'm wrong but some of the volumes of AYB seemed really old. Still, neither are all that recent, but if You have to have a commentary soon You may not want to wait for any more recent set to be produced. To justify, I've seen that some of the NICNT volumes are very recent, Mt wasn't it the volume on Jn?
The recent ICC volumes since the 90s don't seem dated. I've had 2 Cor volume 1 chapters 1-7 and Pastorals in Logos but couldn't afford to keep them, they were really good, especially 2 Cor 1-7 + the introduction in Pastorals. I don't know much Gk yet so they also seemed like overkill. I'm waiting for some more recent Pastorals commentary as good as that one in ICC and I may get 2 Cor 1-7 in the future when I afford to (preferably if I learn a lot of Gk). I have Isaiah chapters 40-55 volume 2 (verses 44:24-55:13) as printed matter since ½ a year and it's really good.
ICC is much more technical than NICOT/NICNT when it comes to grammar, the ICC contains a lot of Gk. The OT volumes also a decent amount of Hebrew, although the Hebrew print is a bit small in the print volumes and I think much of it is in notes, at least it seems so from my volume, anyone who has a recent ICC OT volume may inform me!
AYB is cited by many, many resources, so in addition to some of the volumes which are desirable, having it in your library to chase citations can be extremely useful. It's not a resource that goes on sale though. I couldn't afford the pre-pub when it came out, but it is on my wish list at some point.
The only way I got AYB on 'sale' was using the Christmas credit. I usually don't buy ICC since I have the PDFs (which I never read since they're not in Logos but it's just not right to buy PDFs no matter how valuable). But I did break down and buy the newer Matthew volumes (AYB and Matthew don't seem to mix; likely the tax issues).
The ICC-Matthew had quite a bit my other commentaries (eg WBC, Hermeneia, etc) didn't have, which in turn led to needing/using Rick's NT-Apocrypha book. Having Logos is really a learning experience.
Do logos normally have sales on "back2school" as big as their sale on blackfriday/christmas?
I've just joined on March.

From what I recall last year, it wasn't that "Big". But the savings on the NICOT/NICNT were great if you wanted it at the time.
Cheers, ChelseaFC
I noticed the "other" software has broken up NIC*T.....
