screen-shot posting trouble

All of the sudden, my PNG screen shots won't show up on the forums. I'm doing the same thing I've always done to post them (except I'm on a different computer than I usually am). Is there something simple I'm missing?

If you don't see a screen shot from Logos above this line, it still ain't workin'.

If I click on your ? in a box, the screen shot shows up.

It's a bug in the forum software that comes and goes. The screenshot will show up sooner or later. If you don't want to wait, you can try .jpeg instead. That usually works.

Personally save image as JPG when PNG does not appear in forum editor preview, then click compose so can delete PNG and attach JPG.

I'm sure there is a way, even if it is to use a software program (other than the built in mac keyboard shortcuts).

I do have another solution, however. You dont need to convert the image... you just need to change the extension. Here are the steps (for Mac):

Right click on the image and choose "get info"
In the "Name & Extension" section, rename the screen shot to anything you want... but make sure to add ".jpg" at the end and press "return"
A popup will appear asking if you want to change the extension. The default is to keep .png. Make sure to click "use .jpg"
Voila! It should work in the forums.

Snipping Tool on windows tends to default to last format used.

Preview Save defaults to PNG so have used export to JPG many times.

Even when the post doesn't work, we can still click on that little generic picture icon and it will open the image in a page of its own. It's a pain, and most people aren't aware they can do that. So it's best to use one of the workaround solutions people have posted above.

I really hope they can fix this forum bug. It's been annoying for quite some time now.

I've switched to using .jpg files. I'm not sure why that would work when .png doesn't, but it seems to always be the case.

Thanks, but all that does is save me from having to trash two images. Other than that, it's just as much extra work.

We must be saving Logos thousands of $$ in support costs a year. They could at least provide us with a forum software that works!
