We just cross an important milestone—500,000 posts. Congratulations, and thank you to all who make this community so special.
Ray, can you tell us who made the 500,00 post?
What is Logos going to do to celebrate? Perhaps a special gift or discount is in order for forum users only? [;)]
Bruce Dunning, on this thread.

edit: Oh, congratulations, Bruce.
I demand a recount. [:P]
I demand a recount.
1, 2, 3, ..... (I'll get back to ya')

haha! [:D]
Sorry Ray, I'm not letting you off the hook that easy. [:)] Who posted the 500,000 post that we see today?
There are several ways to count it. I've asked the Development team to write up an explanation.Should be ready shortly.

After careful calculation to determine exactly when the forum post count rolled over to 500,000, and careful re-check of my calculations, the 500,000th post is... our own Brian Williams: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/72922/508000.aspx#508000
The determination was that it was the nth post prior to the last time the post count was calculated, where n is the number of posts over 500,000 at the time that the post count was calculated.
N
Not fair. The first poster after Brian who is not an employee wins. [:)]
If I had known we were only one away I would have delayed! [:P] Thank you for being dedicated Logos (and Vyrso) customers, I've enjoyed working with all of you!

Oh well. Time to start counting down to the 1,000,000 post. [:)]
That's the spirit.

Say what!!! You mean it wasn't me. Talk about having my expectations raised only to have them dashed to pieces! Is this any way to celebrate the 500,000th post? [:S]
Look on the bright side ... their count was 'Non-troll-or-otherwise-badly-behaved-posts' (eg deleted). Else we would have hit the magic mark far earlier!
I demand a recount. 1, 2, 3, ..... (I'll get back to ya')
221,343, 221344, 221,345 .....
Keep working on it ST. [:D]
The reason that Ray Deck stated that there are several ways to count it is that the 500,000 count for the forums is actually not quite accurate. It includes posts that were deleted and posts that were created in a hidden forum by the use of the "Report Abuse" tool...
We could update the way that posts are calculated, and update the statistics to be truly accurate, but it would put the post count back to... 476,183. Not an exciting number.
We better not tell ST that. He doesn't have access to the hidden forum for his counting. He'll come unglued as he approaches 476,180.
He'll come unglued
Couldn't happen to a more … guy [:D] (Supply your own adjective for …)
So if you don't count all those posts maybe we have not quite reached 500,000 or maybe I actually did win. [:)] What will be official way of counting in the future?

Hmmm ... sometime in August ... sometime in August ....
I'm looking forward to some great deals to celebrate!
