Say its your birthday and someone wants to buy you logos books for your birthday. Can someone give you that in logos store credit feature? Thanks
There's no feature on the website to give Logos store credit to someone, but anyone can call up Logos, give the email address of the user they want to give a gift of credit to, and put it on their own credit card. I've done it before.
I think that is what Robert was asking;
Is t possible to gift someone a credit by paying for it.
It's nice to know. (Rosie, call CS and ask them where my credit is. It hasn't shown up in my account yet. [;)] )
I've done it before.
Thank you, Rosie [^]
It's unfortunate something like a gift certificate doesn't exist.
I've thought about giving this as a gift when we do the annual pastor appreciation. However, I have no clue what e-mail address he used to register with Logos. Yes, I could ask, but I would like it to be a surprise and something I can tuck into a card.
The lack of a gift certificate ranks right up there on my "I wonder why they do it this way" list along with why a company known for digital products doesn't make their Bible Study Magazine available in digital form.
Two of the many mysteries of life. [;)]
I hope it is NOT for something like say .. you've bought a book, then later on decided to return it .. then instead of getting your REAL money back to you bank account, the money becomes a store credit instead for you to buy in the future...
.
I hope IS NOT this.
No worries.
But wouldn't this be a great feature for Logos to have, and a wise thing for Logos to do. In fact, it is dumb not to have it.
Church members often like to do that sort of thing for their pastor. I have often been given gift certificates to various bookstores for birthdays or Christmas or some similar occasion. I would have much preferred a Logos store credit. But the fact is that it is far more trouble and intimidating for a lay person or family member to give a Logos gift than a Cokesbury or Lifeway or whatever Christian bookstore gift.
It should be easy for anyone to go to the Logos webpage and buy a gift certificate for anyone. This is not brain surgery, and it is money that Logos is just throwing away. Go figure.

I agree with you Michael. It seems like a no-brainer to me but maybe there is more than meets the eye.
The fact that we can see credit available in our accounts, and the redesign of the webpage, tells me that it is something that they are working on.
Logos will work on projects for a long time, before letting us know. That way no keeps reminding them that they promised .....

When I last returned a book, I asked for Logos credit, but CS said they could only apply a credit to my CC. Unless something has changed in the last 18 months, that must be the way it is done.
Once when I returned a $4.49 book they suggested me that since it's such a small sum to turn it into credit in my account instead of returning the sum on my bankcard and I agreed on that. That was in mid-April 2013:

I can see a Credits 'tab'. I can't see my credit. Can you?
But this will be very welcome when it starts working:

Weird. I've never even been asked if I wanted money back to my card. I've always gotten Logos credit.

If you know his name and address, I dare say Logos knows his e-mail.
This is not brain surgery
Nor is it simple. I imagine it requires modifications to at least four different systems, and the way they interact with each other: website, payments, accounts, and accounting.
And before they even get that far, there are legal issues: if someone's given you a $1000 gift card that you haven't used yet, and then Logos suddenly goes bankrupt, who owns the money, you or the creditors?
I paid for and added Gift cards to my two accounts yesterday around 1:20 PM Bellingham time. It still has not shown up in Credits in either accounts. I've emailed to Logos about this early this morning, and am still waiting for response:

Now the Store Credits in both of my accounts have showed up and Meryl at support has replied! [:)] Just in time for pre-orders.
