Julian, John. A Dictionary of Hymnology (2 vols., Dover, 1957; republished by Kregel, 1985) - originally published in 1892 and revised in 1907, this is a classic reference work on early Christian hymns. The Dover edition published in 1957 is an unabridged and unaltered republication of the 1907 revised edition. The original work appeared as one volume, but the 1957 edition is bound as two. It's in the public domain. Both volumes are available on Christian Classics Ethereal Library in a nice facsimile. It would be great to get this resource integrated into Logos. I managed to get a used copy of it through the Internet several years ago.
