Hi, I have been trying to get my KJV back for Logos.... does anybody have it, I am wondering if its just me or what....
Yup, mine is there.
I have several versions. Which version are you looking for?
Just looking for the reg KJV.... glad to know it is in some Alpha's.... Any idea on what I should do to get it to show up?
Just looking for the reg KJV...
Just looking for the reg KJV...That still does not make any sense. The "regular" King James version from 1769 or the "regular" King James version from "1900" or the "regular" King James version w/the Apocrypha (also 1900)?
What are you talking about Joe, mine says "Regular KJV". There is more than one???
KJV... Cambridge edition 1900.
It shows in my windows version, but not in my Mac Alpha. Does anybody have any ideas?

Well, since those two versions use different indexes and resource folders, is it possible that the Mac index are corrupt, or the resource is missing out of the resource folder? I show four resources in the resource folder on L4mac that start with KJV. How many do you show?
KJV.logos4 KJV1900.logos4 KJV1900OT.lbsrvi KJVAPOC.logos4
If you show those files (or similar), it might mean your indexes are corrupt (SWAG) and you might try rebuilding them (rebuild index)

Joe, forgive my poor attempt at humor, as I was reading your question, I was imagining the look of horror that would have been on the face of an Pastor aquantince of mine, if someone had asked him "Which" KJV he was talking about. [:D]
I think you are right.
I have KJV1900OT and KJVAPOC. I have rebuilt the index a few times and it didn't help. Is there some possibility i didn't download it? I have the disk, can you rebuild off a disk?

Mike, I would assume so, but you said you had a working windows L4 copy, correct? Why not just copy the missing files from it, them reindex and see if that fixes it. I remember reading that the L4 and L4 Mac used the same type resource files. If that doesn't work, hopefully someone with a better understanding of the L4Mac resource management will take pity on you and answer.
Thank you for your help. I appreciate it, I will try that and if it doesn't work I will just use what I have till it is stable.
God Bless and have a Merry Christmas
Terry,
No problem, I realized you were just having a bit of fun :-)
Mike,
There is a known bug that prevents some books from showing up. I don't know if this is related or not, but if the developers need more info, they will jump in and ask. So ou are probably smart to sit back and ride it out until a fture build.
Blessings
Hey, I reinstalled off the disk, re-indexed and it is now there along with 29 more resources
Oh, looks like your licenses were not synced with the Logos server. Good thing you did that :-)
One other thing to try when you think you may be missing resources is to run the "update resources" command in the command bar.
Cameron,
Great tip, I did not know you could do that. This may be a "freshman" question but is there a comprehensive list of what all you can do with the Command Bar? I know of "Update Now" and "Update Resources". Thanks.

Hi Joe can you help with KJV PLEASE? THANK YOU
I think Joe just left on Christmas holiday. What kind of help do you need with the KJV?
I am also having issues with not having any of my Bibles except for the NET Bible. I would like to know how to open the comand window to be able to update my recources but when I looked at the wiki that you posted I had no luck in doing so. Im new to Mac so please bare with me. I would really like to have my old Bibles back.
In His service,
Thomas
Type in the command box in the left hand side of the title bar, "update resources" without the quotes. A pop down menu should appear. Click on "update resources" and then press <ENTER>.
HTH
Ok I did that but no real results as far as Bibles are concerned. Thank you for your quick response though Im just not used to this Mac yet...

Can you see any Bibles in the Library window? Open the library window and type in "type:bible" without the quotes. (see below) This should give you a listing of all Bible texts in your library. Your listing may look different as you may have a different collection than I do, but if a long listing appears, scroll down through the list to see if the KJV is there. You can also just type "KJV" (without the quotes) as well to narrow the search.
Did that and got 0 results. Its like I have no Bibles at all.
Yikes! Do you see any resources at all of any type?
none...I have some resources when I use the drop down from the home page but no bibles. I have all sorts of commentaries and such.
Ok, obviously something is majorly wrong. If you haven't done so before, you could post your logs to the forum using these instructions: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/6731.aspx I would suggest starting a new thread so that it can be looked at on its own.
If you are impatient and don't want to wait for someone from Logos to look at your logs, you could try rebuilding your index. I have no clue if this will help. I can't imagine it will make it much worse. If you want to do this, in the command box type "rebuild index" without the quotes. This will initiate a full reindex of your library and depending on the size of your library take hours. Best thing to do is to let it run overnight and to keep your computer from going into "sleep mode" some people use an application called "Caffeine" to keep it going. You can read more about this at: http://wiki.logos.com/Known_Mac_Alpha_Issues
Sorry I can't be of more help! This is an Alpha version which is to be expected, but that doesn't help in solving it or reducing frustration!
Donavon has given you some good advice, but I wanted to add one note. When you type "rebuild index" in the command box, wait for the drop down list to populate and then select the command from the list. It may take several seconds for the process to begin, and there will be no indication until the blue icon appears in your Menu Bar. If you hit the Enter or Return key, L4 Mac will normally initiate a search of your resources for "rebuild index". As Donavon said, be prepared for a lengthy process.
Ok I'm going to start a new post and see if there is another way to fix this. I looked @ the video that Donovan recommended and it sounds really complicated so I'm not sure if I want to take that route yet. I would love to report the bug if others have it and maybe if any other Mac user wants to help me do it via instant messenger like ichat I would be glad to do it. But unfortunately I'm so new to Mac that I don't quite know how to use this machine to well yet, and I'm thankful that my commentaries I currently have on there are working so please if there is a way to do it via ichat It would be much easier.
