I have been having trouble with Logos 5.1 spiking CPU usage and causing my system to overheat. I have noticed other posts of people having the same problem but have yet to find a solution posted anywhere.
Welcome to the forums, Dennis!
Is this problem during indexing, or other activity? If so, what? Can you reproduce?
Not sure it may even be related to your problem, but I used to have issues that were resolved once I increased my RAM to 16 Gb, this was in a MacBookPro. Not saying that this is causing the CPU usage spike problem, but many things improved after my RAM addition (e.g., Computer temperature, Logos perceived performance).
Blessings, Fernando
I can't figure out what is causing it to happen. I do notice a CPU usage spike when the program indexes, but the CPU settles down once that is complete. This appears to be more random and I cannot identify a reason why it happens. When it happens it will go on as long as I have Logos open. If I restart it sometimes returns, and sometimes goes away. Odd.
It is a Macbook Air and I am maxed out on memory already.

Well I am guessing it is maxing out only because of indexing, my advise poor as it is is to place your macbook air on ice till it finishes it;s indexing… In a good strong plastic bag.. we don't want to get your machine wet. My old computer left fan went and i had more ice under my machine than I could have imagined till i could back it up fully and take it in.
