I purchased Logos 4 yesterday and it still has not started to index yet. I am running the windows version. I never say the indexing icon. Any ideas?
Dustin, how about a little more information.
What product did you purchase? When you installed it did you do so from the Internet or did you have the DVD? If from the Internet did Logos 4 tell you it was downloading a large file (resources)? Did it ever ask you to install your new resources (if downloaded via the Internet)? Is there a blue Logos 4 icon in your system tray (lower RHS of your screen)? If so when you hover over it what does it say?
Mark, I got the Scholars Library (LE) and I installed it from the internet. I do not recall it asking me to install my resources and I never saw the blue Logos 4 icon in my systems tray. I hope this helps.
Dustin
Did it ever ask you for your email address and password to login?
Yes it did. I have a home page but that is it. When i go to my resource page there is nothing there. I leave my computer on with the internet connected but nothing. Is there a way that I can reload the program again?
try typing "update now" in the command box and see what happens. It may be that you need to rebuild your index, so if an update doesn't do anything, you will need to call Customer Service to help you through this.
Ok, when I get back to my home PC this afternoon I will try that.
I've found I can make it index if I do a search on a subject for all resources like "adoption"...a message will come up and say I need to index and it will let me do it....I like that because I can do it at night if I want to...

And if you have not seen it, you may want to check out this video from Logos about how to intalll

I used the only one I had. This is the first time I have bought any software from Logos
I did see this but it is like my PC just skipped over the indexing part.
Okay, just wanted to make sure it was not something simple like a wrong account. I am sure some of these other suggestions will work for you brother. Blessings.
Thanks
Is your situation resolved?
I believe so, thanks. My index is downloading now. I called tech support and they had to adjust some things.
Merry Christmas
I just downloaded the upgrade for my Mac and I have no indexing at all. No resources, no options. Nothing! Using Snow Leopard too!
No blue icons or anything that shows any process of indexing.
When in doubt, reboot, and see what happens.
I find many people will wiz away on a computer for hours without thinking that maybe it needs new oxygen from a reboot.
If you already did this, then call support, or review the training videos.
Thanks for the reminder about the little blue icon. I have been trying to figure out how to restart indexing after it stopped this afternoon.

Lpgos Bible Software 4 on DVD Windows: version 4.2 on Windows Vista Platform. No blue Logos 4 Icon in system tray.
Welcome [:D]
Blue Logos 4 icon appears in system tray when Logos 4 Indexer is indexing or downloading (resources or updates, followed by waiting to install click).
Can check if indexing is done by doing a search in Logos 4 (a message appears if indexing needed).
Wiki page Getting Started with Logos => Installation + Indexing section has tips, information, and video tutorial links.
By the way, current Logos 4 stable version is 4.2b => Logos 4 Release Notes
Keep Smiling [:)]
