Why Logos does not save the place where I left anymore?

Why Logos does not save the place where I left anymore? Each time I read the Bible, and close the Logos, it opens in the beginning of the book, not in the place where I was reading.

Logos version: 5.1 SR-2 (5.1.0.0963)

Windows 8 64bit

Go to tools, program settings, and at the very top choose how you want Logos to open up.

Change the setting in Startup from Most recent layout -any to local.

I tried to change it to local, it opens where I left and then instantly switches to the beginning of the book

See if the help files can give more insight. But mine usually open to where I leave off. But my other machine opens to a blank layout. logos4:Help;ref=layouts This opens the help file to the layout section.

I have several thoughts:

Having "link sets" can potentially cause problems. Perhaps that is some of the issue?
Logos use of the term "layout" is misleading to my way of thinking... and perhaps yours as well. By "layout," I mean "a pattern of resource placement" or "the shape of resource panels and tools." When Logos uses the term "layout," they always mean a "snapshot." There are some similarities in the two definitions, but they are distinct from one another. Most importantly, you should understand that if you have Book "A" opened to page "100," in a layout in L5, when that layout is reopened, it should open to page "100." That is what I mean by a "snapshot." A saved layout doesn't care what page you have left off on your iPad... it cares about the "snapshot."
I had a third point, but I cant remember. [:)] Anyways, I really do wonder if link sets are part of your issue... but hopefully the "snapshot" bit will help you understand why the resource location wont sync to your layout.

If it is the same set of resources that you use on a regular basis, then give it a name and in the command box type "update active layout" before closing.

Thank you Alabama24 and Lynden for your time and help.

The problem lies with Text Comparison. The Text Comparison does not follow me verse by verse, but uses the section of the entire book. Because of that, when I restart, Bible follows Text Comparison, and open to the first chapter of the book.

After I place specific verse to Text Comparison, it sync Bible and then everything begins to work normally.

An alternative would be to tell it to follow. That way any verse that you navigate to in the software, it will follow like a little puppy. [:)]

Not really contributing, but absent a layout re-load (which demands remembering on the previous session), I think Logos doesn't remember the last tab focus, so that the re-load-last-used selects the last link driver. Translation: the last tab loaded sets the links unpredictably (as the OP notes).
