Missing preferred bibles in logos 5

Hi Guys

I have just upgraded to logos 5 (which looks great by the way) but when I click on my preferred bible it says that "This resources is are no longer in your Library". The majority of my other resources are in the library, and the icons for my preferred bibles are in the library, however when I click on them such as NKJV or ASV I get the above message. Other resources such as commentarys are fine

Logos 5 needs to download different versions of Bibles, to support all the extra tagging in the new version. It looks as though this hasn't worked properly.

Try typing update resources into your command bar. That process will take a few minutes, but it should force a download for anything you're missing. Once the download is complete, you'll need to restart Logos and let indexing finish.

Let us know if that doesn't work.

I tried your suggestion but after the resources downloaded, they didn't get indexed into the library, no window saying 'new resources have been added to your library', nothing. Then when I use the command update resources, they same download begings all over again, all 1.38gb. So not sure what is happening here, your help is appreciated

Hi Matthew,

We need to find out what's causing the download problem. Can you look in the Logos Log Files folder in your documents folder, and see if there are any log files there. If so, zip them up and upload them. Hopefully that might help us track down the problem.

If there aren't any recent logs, then we'll have to turn on permanent logging and repeat the download, but let's first check whether a log already exists.

First, reboot your computer.

If that doesn't work we need to see logs as per http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging. We need to see Logosindexer.log as well as Logos.log so upload the log folder before the download completes and then after you restart Logos to process the download.

Hi Matthew,

Your indexer is crashing (and it's the indexer that handles all the downloads). Unfortunately, I'm not exactly sure what's causing the problem, but there have been several similar issues (but not enough for the problem to be diagnosed and fixed.

So, following the advice here, I'm going to suggest you delete the following two files, with both Logos and the indexer closed:

/Users/matt/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Data/l1akjfat.r2a/ResourceManager/Resources/OpenTextGraph.lbxclv
/Users/matt/Library/Application SupportLogos4/Data/4c7ul159.ns4/ResourceManager/ClauseVisualizer/OPENTEXTGRAPH_2009_10_27T19_04_54Z.mstidx

(The timestamp of that last file might be slightly different on your computer.)

Then try loading Logos again (with logging still turned on), and see what happens. If it still doesn't work, upload the new logs and we'll try again.
