You will miss out on MANY freebies if you take that position... I assume you don't have one on account with Logos already? They use the same account credentials. If you are truly opposed to using a credit card, you can go purchase a disposable one at Walmart.

Well this was the only free one I have ever had any interest in. It just so happens that this book targeted a subject I have been reading a lot on lately, and I really wanted to read it.

Tonight I entered my credit card info and purchased the HCSB, something I had been considering for a long time. When I went to the page to get the free book, it wasn't free anymore. They want $4.00 for it now. Well $4 is what B&N wants for the nook edition (its only $1 for the kindle), and I would prefer to read it on my nook, so it looks like the sale goes to B&N.

If there was an expiration date on the free offer, shouldn't it have be displayed somewhere on the description page? Reminds me of the time I went to McDonalds to get a free sandwich with my winning monopoly sticker. I had gotten the sticker about a week prior to attempting to using it, but I was told "the promotion is over now, we cannot accept this". Feeling like a manipulated fool, I paid for the sandwich they had tricked me into ordering.

Anyway being one who hates gimmicks, coupons, promotions with hidden fine-print and other deceptive sales tactics, I will not soon be fooled like this again.

John, don't let this scare you off. Most free books offered by Vyrso and Logos are for a limited time. I too have had the same experience when I was thinking about a book but waited too long only to find that it was now not free. Generally speaking the Vyrso books offered only last about 24 hours. Rather than responding in frustration I have chosen just to keep an eye on it and, as a result have got hundreds of books for no cost. I'm not interested in some of them but there are others that are pleasant surprises. Also, you didn't have to actually purchase it for $4 but like you said, you were interested in the book.

Anyone in business knows that promoting your goods or service is important. Logos is a business and as such does this. The result is that they would like us to visit their site more often and purchase more books. To encourage us to do so they offer free books with no strings attached. To me that is a pretty good deal. What they get from it is more people pausing to think about Logos and many of those visits turn into sales. Rather than feeling that I have been used I consider it that I have been blessed. It all depends on your perspective. I would encourage you not to give up and try it again in the future. Just don't wait so long this time.

There was no gimmick, nor deceptive sales tactic. A user in the forum discovered the unadvertised offer and announced it for the benefit of others. Most often, these offers are extended via the publisher (rather than Logos). The discount may be for one month, one week, one day, or one hour.

The good news is that since you entered your credit card, you should be able to pick up other offers when they come around.

Well anyway its only $4 ($1 on kindle). And if the book is good it is worth that. I thank the OP for making me aware of the book, even though I missed the free price.

I really have Zero interest in getting books for free that I have no use for. I downloaded a free book for Logos many years ago, it was titled "THE SCRIPTURE ALPHABET OF ANIMALS". Every time I have reinstalled Libronix software I see that free book and the unlock code. Number of times I have read it or referred to it: Zero. Yes I was excited to get something free at the time. But it was not anything I needed.

Credit card info has already been deleted.
