Is there any way to make RefTagger work in Blackboard discussion forums?

I teach college-level classes, and in the discussion forums, I regularly type biblical references. I had never used RefTagger before, but I had a basic idea of what it was, so I thought it would be great to use. Having looked over the basic instructions, though, I don't think this will be possible. Nevertheless, I thought I would check.

The class management system used by the university where I teach is Blackboard. Obviously, I have no control over the website, so I cannot insert plugins or javascript. However, I can provide links in my posts, and I can also compose messages entirely in HTML if I want to.

Would either of these options allow me to use RefTagger--even a scaled down version of it?

The current version of RefTagger requires that the website administrator modify the source of the page to include the RefTagger JavaScript. (So, just as you suspected, I don't think it will be possible to use it with Blackboard.)

It would be cool to have a script or browser plugin that could scan a text entry box and automatically add links around Bible references (for people like you who are posting to forums they don't control), but we don't have anything like that right now.
