Which Camp Logos DVD set to buy? One "appears" to work via internet, not on computer

Camp Logos DVD Rom is $199.95.

1. Says over 8 hours of training

2. Doesn't say which Logos version it's designed for.

3. Fine print says: "Videos are played from the discs via a web browser"

Camp Logos Live DVD set is $224.95

1. Says over 7 hours of training

2. Says it's designed for use with Logos 4 (which is what I have)

3. Fine print says: "The videos can be installed on the user's hard drive (requires around 10GB of hard drive space), or simply played from the discs."

My question: Does anyone know what it means in the cheaper version where it says that videos play from disks via a web browser? To me, that sounds like you can't view them unless you have an internet connection. Am I misunderstanding something? I'd rather buy that version, since it has 1 hour more instruction and costs less, but it also doesn't say which version of Logos it is designed for. And, I don't want to buy something I can't save to my hard drive and use off-line.

These are two different products. The $224.95 set was created for Logos 4. I would recommend it for your present situation. If you plan on upgrading to Logos 5 soon you should pre-order the $199.95 set. It is not yet available. It will be tailored for Logos 5. Much of the content is applicable to Logos 4 also.

I presume both sets can be installed on your hard drive. (Somebody please correct me if I am mistaken)

If these videos are made the same way that another company's are, then no, you don't need an internet connection. The video on the disks were recorded using "Flash" format (either .swf or .flv file extensions) and are displayed in a browser. I imagine that the reason for doing it in this manner is because every major web browser on a computer (Internet Explorer for Windows, Chrome for Mac, Firefox etc.) will play Flash. This prevents them from having to worry whether or not that it will play on all of the various operating systems and they will not have to make various video formats for the different default media players.

Edit: Your web browser is usually the default media player of all Flash videos. Other various media players have the ability to be the default viewer for Flash if you desire to associate the .swf or .flv format with that particular player. It is usually not done though since most Internet videos, such as Youtube use this format. Hence the reason why it is usually a web browser that is the default player for this type of video.
