HELP: What to buy for $100

I've been given some money designated for my Logos addiction, and was wondering how you think I should spend it.
There are two items in my wish list near the $100 mark:
- Systematic Theology (Geisler) – On sale now
- Baker Illustrated Reference Collection – On sale now until Aug 8th (see coupon code on product page)
What say you? One of these or something else?

Until the 9th you could put the $100 on the Aramaic Bible Series. It's almost $700. [;)]

Baker Illustrated Reference Collection. Hands down. This is an awesome set of resources! See some of the oohs and aahs about it here: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/71162.aspx

heh, heh. Nope. I'm just good at Photoshop.
Indeed. Very nice work. Question: How is it that you ran across that original photo?

She didn't.
I am not sure you understand Steve's question. Rosie "ran across" a photo, and digitally edited it through photoshop. Steve was wanting to know how she found the photo.

Alabama is right to a point. But I didn't just "run across" the photo. I knew I'd seen cartoons of people begging holding signs being honest about what they were planning to do with the money (spend it on alcohol) so I Googled around that theme for a while in Google Images, and finally found this perfect shot, which I Photoshopped. Changed ALCOHOL to LOGOS. It already had a lot of the right letter shapes. I snagged the S from CASH and copied it down. I made the G out of the C in ALCOHOL and added some pixels copied from somewhere else in the shape of the serif on the end. And I shifted the letters to the right positions and filled in the background with more of same.

I am going to say something else…
Liturgical Press Reference Collection (7 vols.)
This series of books I think might offer a broader view to your library. And help you in understanding things from a different perspective. I find many of these works marvellous and you may while be pleasantly surprised how often you are in agreement with them. I was raised Lutheran and am now Anglican. I am not out to have you switch your faith home and indeed for one or two doctrinal reasons I personally could not in good faith ever convert to the RCC, but I do value their scholarship and while these works are no Summa Theologica. They will give you a glimpse into some of the more moderate post-vatican II Church. The Baker series would be great but I do feel this set may add more depth and opportunity for reflective thought.
God be with you and may you enjoy spiritual nourishment from your choice.

Next class I'm teaching or next class I'm taking?
I don't have any of either scheduled at the moment, but will likely do another for the BC Leadership Development Network sometime in the future. Have you been in any of my classes before? I wish I recognized your name, but it's so generic.
I just finished taking a class on documentary film, called Believing in Documentary: Truthful Witness, Fearless Speech, and the Transforming Imagination, at Regent College. It was awesome!

It's too bad it wasn't recorded, but I'm sure there would be too many complications with getting the rights to show clips from all the docs he showed bits of in class. He does plan to offer it again in summer school some time, so keep an eye on Regent's website for their summer school listings. Vancouver is a great summer destination, and people do love to come here for a one- or two-week summer school class at Regent as an anchor around which to build their vacation. And I'd love to meet you in person, and could put you up in my guest room to save you the hotel expense.

That would be lovely. BC is lovely... We used to vacation there during spring holiday. [:)]
