Will I Lose Any Resources if I Upgrade to Logos 5?

If you look at the upgrade page for Logos 5 <http://www.logos.com/whylogos5?>, reason 17 says, "These discounted books may not be available later." Under that section, it says some books get removed when they create new base packages, while others get added. It also says they removed many of the books from Logos 4.

Additionally, on the product page for the "Starter" package <http://www.logos.com/product/24531/starter>, there are several comments from people saying they are missing books from Logos 4.

Does anyone know if that is the case when you upgrade, or will you be able to keep all previous resources?

Yes you will.

Logos may change the content of base packages from time to time (which is not related to the Logos 4 or 5 version you run the books on), but what you bought once will remain with you.

Once you buy a resource it is yours. period. You lose NOTHING by upgrading.

What they mean is that sometimes books get removed from a package so that if a person buys a package by the same name "i.e. Silver" in 2 years, it may not include all the books that are in the "Silver" package now. BUT those who have already purchased the resource maintain a license to it.

I think the other guys answered well… no, you will not lose anything. I personally don't think Logos has always done a very good job of explaining the differences between the software, base packages, and other resources.

You can update your desktop APPLICATION from L4 to L5. This is actually free. See HERE.
While the software is free, some of the new features require new datasets… which you would need to pay for (but only if you want to use those features). You can do so via a minimal cross grade OR through the purchase of a new base package.
You can purchase a new L5 BASE PACKAGE. This is completely separate from the software application.
The idea of "upgrading" a base package from L4 to L5 is really misleading. You are purchasing something brand new (although you do get a discount for any resources previously owned, in a base package or not.
It doesn't matter what "level" of package you did or did not own previously. I added to my "L4 Platinum" an "L5 Gold" package.

Yes… but it is much better to update now than later. At some point, there may be a discrepancy between L4 & L5 PBB resources.

As with other resources in Library, PB resources will be available and fully useable if you update a Logos 4 installation to Logos 5. If you perform a fresh installation of Logos 5 you will have to recompile your personal books to get the resources in Library. Logos 5 has certain features not available to Logos 4 PB's; which is a good reason to move to Logos 5.
